Yup, the meter lets us know what's goin' on inside of the battery (like when to re-charge)
...plus, it shows us what kinda Amps this motors (or (2) motors) are "actually" drawing

Slight Adjustment

I tried the "upper" function first
...then, the "lower" one
(probably ~12,000 lbs. of pressure)
...& none of the (HF 90A) welds failed

* While I was doin' this procedure, my daughter came out & said "Where did ya get that one?"

I said, "This is the one we we was riding yesterday"
...& she said "What!, why did ya take it apart?"

I said "I had ta do some "tweakin", on it
...she shook her head & said "you do too much"

The back story to the chassis adjustment

I'm thinkin' that when I welded the short "cross bars", in place
...that the "inner" rails got "drawn upwards" a bit (mostly in the back)

I didn't really notice until I went to mount the second motor
...& it was kinda "crooked"

The left side is definitely worse
...but, the motor mounted & lined up with the sprocket OK, on the right side

So, I figured that I needed to "prop" the outer rails up
...& then, apply "downward" pressure onto the inner rails

I even "overcompensated" a bit by pushing 'em down, ~1" more than necessary
...but, they really didn't seem to "move" a whole lot "in the end" & after they "sprung back"

Um, up next Plan B

Still workin' on "Plan B"
...but, while the chassis was "stripped", I figured a coat of paint wouldn't hurt

So, I "set up" a DIY go kart chassis "rotisserie"
...the "control/lock" is on the "fixed" side (rear of the chassis)
...& the front is just suspended by some wire

Scuffed 'er up "real good"
...wiped 'er down
...& gave 'er a coat of Jet Black (I've heard that black is the fastest color)
...& then, added a little "pizzaz", to the clear coat

* The wife had an old table that had a lot of scrapes & scuffs
...& she wanted it "freshened up"

So, I cleaned it up
...& made it "bling" too

Plan B motor mounts

I had some 3/16" steel "custom bent" to use as/for our next set of motor mounts

Their gonna be about the same dimensions as the first (2)
...but, these should be much stronger
...& more rigid too

The design is gonna be a bit different
...witch will allow me to "custom fit" 'em
...to each sides, specific set, of "uneven" frame rails

After cutting (2) pieces (~7" long)

I clamped 'em together "bottom side, to bottom side"
...& did some measurin' markin' & drillin' (7/8" hole saw)

Cleaned the holes up, a bit, with a Dremel
...& then, "cracked 'er apart

Now, we got "twin" motor mounts

Nice work on drilling the holes ! Same goes for the Rover.... lots of nicely done holes.

Drilling is my least favorite task, but I got a set of step bits that help reduce my frustration quite a bit LOL

The holes I drilled didn't exactly line up with the frame rails
...so, I "trimmed off" the inner side, of both mounts (kinda like the "gas" mounts FH showed us earlier)

Yup, that's better

Now that we have (2) "rough" motor mounts
...we gotta "custom fit" 'em to their specific "perches"

* The "crooked" frame rails don't really affect the axle (much)
...but, they do affect the motor mounts (big time)

So, I sat the chassis on a "leveled" table (just as a starting point)
...then, made sure the axle was good-n-level (that's what we actually need, the motors, to be "true with")

Starting with the right side
...did some whittlin' & roundin'

It took a minute
...but, I got 'er "right on the money" level


But then, when I "actually" sat the motor on the mount
...it was "way off" (technical term)

When I checked around
...I noticed that the motor is not "level", on its own mount

So, back to the drawin' board
...I mean, more whittlin"

Ok, now I have the (right) motor (itself), "nice-n-level" with the axle

Next, I "trued' 'er up (left to right) with a "straight edge
...& marked where the motor needs to be, "bolted" down
...drilled some holes
...& then, threw the chain on, just to "double check"

I put a few strips of masking tape on the frame rails before workin' on the motor mounts
...to help protect the paint a bit

Dual 48V 1,000W motors are installed
...nice-n-level (with the axle)
...& also, nice-n-true to to each other too (using a straight edge)

Since each side is "custom fitted" to their specific "perch", I went ahead & marked/stamped 'em (L & R)
...so they cant be "mixed up"
