    bad crankshaft seal

on my OHH50 tecumseh, oil seems to leak onto the crankshaft, and spatters everywhere when I run the engine. i just replaced the crankcase gasket. could it be residual oil from changing the gasket left on the crankshaft, or do i need to replace whatever sealing parts there are?

    First project- Invader kart

This is an old Invader that I picked up for $100. It has a 5hp tecumseh and a 5:1 gearing. It had a little frame damage to the bumper up front, but it doesn't seem to affect the steering at all. So far I've replaced the sprocket, sprocket hub, and chain, rebuilt the carb, replaced both back...

    Loss of low end power

    exhaust

is there any way to calculate the diameter of pipe i would want for max flow? I'm thinking of making an exhaust to replace the stock muffler- probably just a bit of pipe with a briggs silencer on the end- and i know that neither too small or too big a pipe will work in my favor. Any ideas?

    Milling tecumseh head

is there anything wrong with milling a head with a belt sander that's mounted to a workbench? How much is a good amount to take off for an OHV engine? I haven't taken measurements yet, so I don't know what the max possible is.

    Governor

I've got a 5hp tecumseh on my kart that I can hit 35 mph with. I have a 5:1 gear ratio (12 on the clutch, 60 on the sprocket) my wheels are 10.5" total diameter (wheels and tires) and doing some basic math, at 35 mph this means the engine speed is about 5500 rpm. I'm pretty sure my engine is...
