After a few breakdowns far away from home, I've decided to put together a portable tool kit. I figure I'll have some sockets, screwdrivers, but any other suggestions?

crescent wrench for sure, length of pull start cord, can of fix a flat? at least it's compressed air, master link for chain, chain breaker, i used to carry a 32 0z gatorade bottle of emergency gas... oil, wd-40 is quite useful... roll of duct tape, some bailing wire, multitool like leatherman, mcgyver kinda stuff, your objective isn't necessarily to do a professional repair, but to get home right? i once had to braid a pull start rope out of hay bailing twine i found... you're really only limited by how much stuff you actually want to carry

On my simple yard cart, I can count every nut and bolt (except the engine) on 2 hands. So it is an easy thing to bring a couple few nuts and bolts and always a chain master link. and most of those nuts and bolts are covered by 3 wrenches and a crescent.
