    Predator 212 into Dirt Bike?

You originally wanted to build a mini bike right? So go ahead and out the Predator 212 into the dirt bike roller and have a really cool mini with suspension and dirt tires. Why worry about whether you will have the performance range of the previous dirt bike motor and transmission. With a...

Front engine 212 kart build - first real kart

Harbor Freight was just selling the 212s for $93 bucks during their tent sale. Just buy another and use the dead one for spare parts.

considering, 670cc Harbor Freight v-twin, in a bike?!

I'm doing it now. Just bought the 670cc to put into my 82 Honda Sabre. Just trying how to connect to the drive shaft.

Front engine 212 kart build - first real kart

Very cool build. I do think you should consider turning the engine sideways and using a jackshaft. I'm doing the same thing with my 670cc engine on my 82 Honda motorcycle project. It's shaft drive and I have to have the PTO shaft of the engine pointed forward in order to match the forward...

    Tach that calcs speed

I'm using a Predator 670cc on my old Honda motorcycle. It will have a battery and lights...to be used on the street. I'd like to hook up a tach with a speedo conversion on it rather than use my cell phone app. Is there a simple electronic tach, like the ones that wrap around the spark plug...

    Fukushima

I'm in the Pacific Northwest. I don't eat seafood anymore and I don't go in the water. Unlike Chernobyl, which did radiate everyone through the air and milk, Fukashima is spreading all over the world via ocean currents as well as the air. The West coast of the U.S. is already contaminated...

Chain keeps falling off almost every turn

The chain is loose or misaligned. Use a laser pointer to make sure that the sprockets are in line. Also, your engine mount could be tilted slightly, try using washers to get it on the same plane as your driven gear. Get a chain tensioner too.

Right angle diff - small project

Well Gene from Agrisupply responded to my question about load and rpms for that gear box: "This gear box is made for a fertilizer spreader and will not handle this kind of r p m., it is a 540 max. r p m."

Right angle diff - small project

Yeah, I noticed that too. Effin cookies.

Right angle diff - small project

You are a godsend! I have been killing myself trying to come up with a right angle diff for my shaft driven motorcycle project. I'll be installing a Predator 420cc or 670cc on it but the right angle of the shaft was causing no end of complications. I was just about to give in and mount the...

    Clutch for Predator 670cc?

OK, so I'm going to install the Predator 670cc engine in my 82 Honda Sabre roller. I'm working on a shaft to chain conversion using the bevel drive differential pulled from the original (dead) 750cc V4 engine. I'll connect the final drive sprocket to the new engine via a jack shaft. But, what...

    Ironton 420cc?

Well I'm pretty sure they last longer than 500 hours. That is the minimum use before major maintenance not the lifetime of the engine. If you used the engine for two hours per day you would go for over eight months before pulling it to do a comprehensive overhaul.

    Ironton 420cc?

So, I have a Predator 212cc in my Motovox and I'm very happy with it. But, I have another project that needs a bigger engine...an old 1982 Honda Sabre roller. The engine has been pulled and it is ready for a donor engine. I'm thinking that a 390/420 is as small as I can go for a motorcycle...

Motovox MBX10 Predator 212cc Swap With Torque Converterr

Looks great! I just put a 212 into my MBX10 this summer but went with a basic centrifugal clutch. It actually has too much low end torque and I'm considering going with a smaller sprocket on the wheel. Also, could you provide a pic of the torque converter without the cover on it?

    Reversing Engine PTO Direction

It would look something like this but done with jack shafts: http://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/pto-reverser-gearbox.8928/

    Reversing Engine PTO Direction

This was actually my original idea. Basically using two parallel jack shafts with gears in inside and sprockets on the left and right for the chains (one from the engine and one to the rear wheel). But this involves some fabrication and engineering that winds up being more complicated and time...

    Reversing Engine PTO Direction

So...I'd like to be able to reverse a Honda clone's PTO direction by rotating the engine 180 degrees. This would have the cylinder with air filter facing forward rather than backwards. There are several reasons to do this, one being that my gear box is oriented clockwise rather than...

    Monster Moto 80 crankshaft

Yes I had to buy a new clutch online because of the larger shaft size. But I kept the original #35 chain and length. Of course the new engine had different mounting hole locations but it was easy to drill them out. The bike was a deal or steal...found new in the box at a local Sears for only...

    Monster Moto 80 crankshaft

It runs great...lots of lowend power and gets up to 30 mph with everything stock. It would be fine for an older child by setting the screw on the throttle linkage. You know the one everyone says to back out all the way. I pulled the OEM 79cc unused and sold it on craigslist for $75.
