Yeah, lots of black ice here too, half the time there's enough sleet on top to make everything white (and hide the black ice).

Needed a manual for the old Panther. Came in yesterday, barely took any time to get here surprisingly considering the time of year. Learned more after a half hour than I would have trying to go on vintage sled forums.

"Only once or twice, and that was only when I was like 4 in Oregon.

yes sledding is amazing, we have a great hill right by our house. but someone, the electrical company, put a pole right in the middle! hopefully I can try snowmobiling this year if I can rebuild mine in time.
Nothing beats going down a large hill after snow and an ice storm.
most definitely. las year I want sledding with some buddies for my birthday and we had had melting temperatures the day before so the top of the snow was ice. that day was the farthest we have ever gone on the hill near my house. also what yer sled do you have?

cool!
so I finally got to ride a fourwheeler today. It was super awesome. my buddy's dad brought it over and we ripped around the yard. I think it handles much better and rides a lot smother that all the gokarts I have ridden. it also can spin the tire at the push of a button. it was super fun.

some kind of honda. it was four wheel drive, and also has a manual and automatic. the mauel just used buttons though. i believe it was more for like hauling and yard work than a ripper, but it does around forty mph but we did not try and go that fast. judging by other pics I just looked up I think it is a trx 500. also it works great to form a track through the snow. you just drive it around a little and then you can get out your 1wps and rip around in those too.

Four wheelers are fun. The 4wd ones actually ride pretty rough. You should try a sport quad, bigger engine + less power loss + sequential manual transmission = more fun. I’ve been riding an 04 Yamaha Raptor 660 for a few years. In third gear, it’ll pull the front tires off the ground and keep there with no problem. It has five gears, but around here I rarely get it a above mid range in fourth. There’s just not enough room to fully open her up. It’s limited to 75 mph, but after that’s disabled, they’ll go mid 80s.

They are only harsher riding due to being more utilitarian in design. Get a bit of a load on it and it'll smooth right out. Might not be a soft as a Raptor, but it'll be an improvement. I'd like to ride one with Mattracks at some point, but those are expensive.

so I just remembered the name of the one I rode. I believe it was the rubicon. I don't really have access to a fourwheeler on a regular basis, the only guy I know with one is the friend previously mentioned. and he lives like 30mins away from me. but I did really like it so I may save up for one. I don't think I will get one that is super fast though. I also don't have a place to really open it up.

I get nervous on the Blaster and that's only about a 200cc two stroke, with a 6 speed gearbox. Barely out of 4th gear and she gets interesting. Shorty wheel base will do that and high center of gravity.

This morning when my wife and I left to go to work, she set the thermostat to the apartment at 69⁰F, as it was going to be a cold day (this morning it was 9⁰F and got up to about 28⁰F). Got home at 5:40pm and it was 89⁰F in the apartment, furnace was still on. Filter is pretty new. Probably a short to power somewhere or a bad thermostat. Will have to contact maintenance soon to have them mess with it.

Got Drunk, Got Bored, Got Noisy... and failed miserably. At least it does the job. And this is exactly why I ordered a Hobart 115v. 3 layers of halved 33" 1/8 steel drums stacked, push bar from an old lawn roller, and a Honda GL1500 axle bolt to mount it to the pushplates. 82lbs, and it actually cuts ice like it should. Redneck engineering at it's best! This baby only cost me a noise cerfew citation!

Well it's only 4 days off because it landed on a Friday. Company decided to give us Christmas Eve off as well this year. If it was in the middle of the week, we probably would've had to be at work the next day. Pretty sure the techs and sales work tomorrow.
