That's harsh bro. After church today I did some chores and smoked a Boston butt, so I didn't accomplish anything on the kart. For your amusement, in the mean time. Here are photos of the small amount of progress I've made. The wheel that was on the cart that I'm not replacing is horribly rusted so it will take significant effort to restore to a reliable condition. My luck the new wheel and hub was completely different so they don't interchange so I'm probably going to end up ordering another assembly but it took like two weeks from order to getting it here. So I'm going to make this one work for now, it just won't be as pretty.

He didn't mean any harm, that was just a polite reminder to post pics when and if possible. 😇

Don't forget to measure your old parts before you order! Since your new parts didn't fit, just restore the rusty wheels. It's a good thing to refurbish what you can as original parts are good [for originality] as long as they aren't toast because it teaches you good repair skills. If you need to to satisfy your OCD, you can get real technical like filling pitted areas with body filler [Bondo] or JB Weld etc. Get some good tools, like a cheap angle grinder--they make super short work of rust and old paint removal.

As to your current progress, pic number 1, sometimes the manufacturers used axle spacers to push the wheels out to the extreme ends of the axles. It can be a short section of tubing that you hacksaw to size or something pre-made like this:

5/8" ID x 1 1/4" Long Aluminum Motorcycle Wheel Axle /Bolt Spacer

[I'm guessing your front axle spindles are 5/8" OD]. Might prevent your tires from rubbing on the frame at full steering lock [if that's an issue] and also prevents so much exposed thread from sticking out of the hub. Just an FYI.

Yeah so I they are close enough I can make them work. As it turns out there are already rub marks from previous tires rubbing. I'll probably see if I can get a handful of washers or a couple of big enough nuts for spacers. I have a cordless grinder and wire wheel, and I ordered some Rust-Oleum rust converter paint. Last night I put oil in the motor and gas in the tank, fired up and ran smooth on the second pull. I let it idle for a good 30 minutes. Then I couldn't get the drain plug out. I didn't feel like hunting for my 6 point 10 mm so I gave up for the night. I'll let it idle again and drain it when I find the proper socket/wrench to drain the oil. Something I'm concerned about is the shaft length. The holes lined up easily but it doesn't look like the chain will line up with the sprocket if I use the original slots. So I'm probably going to have to use my cutting wheel and grinder to make new slots closer to the edge of the mount. I'll post more pics as I make progress. I am also waiting on a switch for the lights. I already have the relay and harness. My plan is to wire it to the key switch so it only works if the key is on.

Sounds like you just need the spacers from the front wheels of a riding mower to me

Indeed and 5.00 each seems kind of steep but that seems to be the going rate. I'm going to look around and see if I have the materials to make something cause I like free a whole lot better.
I have 6 (3 pairs, 3 sizes) that I'm not entirely sure I will use for anything. I'm 99% sure the wide pair are 1/2" spacers, the other 2 are pretty much high end fender washers with the thick pair being twice thickness of the thin pair.
All are 3/4" ID if I'm not mistaken, but I'll grab pics and measurements.
We can talk bargains if they are in fact what size you need

The axles are 5/8 od, I have to measure when I get home but you can see from the pic I have quite a bit of room. I'm def willing to talk bargains.

3/4" ID isn't going to play nice with bearings on a 5/8" spindle.

You are far better off grabbing a fistful or two of 5/8" ID washers from a local hardware store, worst case scenario ebay.

304 stainless 5/8-1-3/4 spacer

Yeah I asked my gf to stop at the hardware store yesterday but she didn't have time. I might see if she can try again today. The place closes at 5 so I can't make it there during the week.

So she made it to the hardware store today and I made some progress. I am posting pics of my progress on the rim/hub I had to refurbish. I thought I took more pictures, what you see is before during and after. I went with white Rust-Oleum since the brand new wheel was white. They aren't a perfect match but you really have to pay attention to notice. Eventually, I will make the rear wheels match. I didn't think to take pictures but I used two thick washers on the left and 2 washers and an m18 nut on the side and I have just enough threads and no more rubbing. Tomorrow I hope to accomplish more break in and oil changing on the motor. If I have it running a while I may try to fit the clutch. I don't know if it is obvious from the pics but the rim was very rusted with severe pitting. I used my angle grinder and drill with wire wheels to strip as much rust and paint as i could, cleaned with alcohol and painted them. I cleaned the aluminum and clear coated it. It's not perfect but it looks nicer than it did and hopefully it won't rust again any time soon.

What size tires go on that 2 piece 4 lug steel rim?
I have 3 matching (4th is bent to hell) and might be what you need.

Iirc they might be 6", but they are definitely on 3/4" spindles
