I might just go to Englishtown for the Wednesday night open track nights. I do not know how long I will keep it. I am getting the cart for $250 so worst case is that I can always sell it for that plus the seat it needs to make it road worthy. Do you know where I can get a cheap used seat for it...

I am no expert on 2 cycle engines but I thought they did not have valves like a conventional engine :confused:

Is a rebuild hard to do and expensive? Do you what parts need to be replaced?

I am new to carting and I may be picking up a cart tomorrow with an older (8-10 years old) COMER 100cc engine. Can someone tell me if these are good and/or reliable engines? Does age degrade them at all? Can they be started with a quality high power drill? Here's a few closeups of the engine.

I was wondering if someone can tell me if its possible to start a COMET 100 cc (KPv-100?) 2 cycle motor with a large drill or an impact gun set to a low setting. If you can use a drill please tell em which one you used. I am sort of new to this so I will assume that you place the stater (drill)...

Thanks for letting me know. Is this a run of the mill set up of is it considered "better". It has a 60 tooth now and it seems to be in decent shape, needs to be cleaned since the previous owner had it outside for a number of years.

It looks like it is some type of ring sprocket? And its bolted to some other part that is attached to the axle. Is this considered a "Live axle"? Do they still make these? I do not want to buy something that I can not find parts for. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am planning on buying a engine soon and at first was going to get one from Harbor Freight but was persuaded to go the Clone route. I was just on the ARC Racing site (and a few others) and noticed that some engines make 6.5 hp and others 11. Does anyone know if they have different model...

I was wondering the same thing...Can a motorcycle sprocket be made to work on a go cart engine? Is your Kawasaki from a dirt bike? If it is then you should have no problem using a 520 sprocket/chain.

I guess I would have to modify the existing throttle control on the HF engine so that it would work on a go cart. Do you know if there is a how-to on this board for doing this? Right now it has a slider switch with a turtle and a rabbit to control speed. I guess I would have to break the plastic...
