    “Wooden” go kart frame

The 2x4s are oriented the wrong way, they should be turned 90 degrees to take the stress of your weight bouncing around. Right now your frame has the strength of a sheet of plywood and it's gonna fold. With any structurally safe kart, you should be able to stand in the drivers seat, and jump...

    pretty decent fire

Another take away from this might be to use the right size fuel line with clamps.

    Race Chassis Id?

If anyone comes across this thread, these rims ended up working. It does not say so, but they are dual pattern , 3x2.5in with 1/4 holes, and 3x58mm with 8mm holes. https://www.bmikarts.com/6-VanK-Non-Machined-Classic-Kart-Quarter-Midget-Wheel--Black-Powder-Painted_p_38333.html

    Race Chassis Id?

Also looking for rear rims. All I see in 6in are 3 on 2.5in with 1/4in studs. My hubs are 3 x 56mm on 8mm studs, 8in wide.

    White smoke out of exhaust

Because the engineers at tecumseh said so. Its says right on the dipstick to run sae30. For winter use , 5w30 is recommended, and if you don't have that 10w30 is an acceptable substitute, again for cold weather use. It says in their service update book, and the repair manual that running multi...

    Performance question

I must ask, what is the advantage of a bored stock carb over an appropriately sized slide carb, that lets just say flows the exact same cfm? As in performance, not just being able to bolt the stock airbox back on the engine. Yeah totally , but why does the smaller carb being stock type matter?

    White smoke out of exhaust

Sounds like blowby pushed oil through the crankcase breather back into the air intake. If you run them above governed speeds, like adjust or remove it, it will happen. Or the motor is just worn and the cylinder has too much blowby. Instead of running the breather hose back to the intake, you...

Vertical Shaft Lawnmower Engine for Go-Kart

Yeah Ive done it, but it's not going to be worth it 98% of the time. Especially when you can pick up a new predator for cheap, just grabbed one this weekend for $100. But here is how I mounted mine, just angle iron and some scraps.

TC extra part? Edit how to fit drive pulley to engine

Yeah it prevents the torque converter from going into overdrive. Depending on vehicle weight, gear ratio, and motor mods it may be beneficial to install it, especially if your trying to push alot more rpm then the converter was intended for. Generally on a stock engine, the shim will only limit...

    Mechanical Brake Calipers no good?

Thanks pearl, unfortunately I had to retire the loop. It just kept cracking, after the 3rd patch job I was done with it Anyway I ordered another mech caliper, this time an amazon special. Im going to try it with a plain mild steel rotor on the 459cc minibike. Should be a good test

3D Manual Clutch in action ??

I think it was determined that they arnt good for drag racing. A traditional racing clutch is more repeatable and gooder. And not really suited for racing , its really only good for clutch dumps/ fun riding. And for that the price is just too high. If it were half the price and available in...

    Mechanical Brake Calipers no good?

This was not the direction I thought this thread would go lol. I was shopping for the cheapest plain steel 1in rotor I could find, and nothing was below $35. I was going to place an order with bmi karts anyways, and they had the billet 1in hub and the drilled rotor , $30 total. Cost less...
