Predator 212 to 420 swapout footprint, both ways...........

I thought that was self explanatory , but yeah totally. But I do not think any of those 4 positions will be ideal for his application, so I advised on how to mount it at any angle he needs it to be.

    Milling head on drill press?

Job done well enough, still have brew left. Might have went over .050, she'll be right Hope you can see the difference in the combustion chamber volume by the pics. Gonna sand it a bit more. After porting and modifying the valves for more flow , gonna raise the rocker arms studs, run longer...

    GX390 + 10Si = juice

That's cool! Ive been running a 40$ reman parts store alternator that has a directional fan backwards for 3 years on my, umm, plow thingy. No problems and usually sits outside. Ill be just fine! I don't see any issue there :cheers2:

    Milling head on drill press?

Just playing around with a junked toro 212cc snowblower engine, down about .015, hopefully by the end of the 6 pack she'll be shaved .050 . Don't worry bout the finish, after some rubbing on 100-150 grit emery cloth sheets, ill be store bought. Just a 5/16 end mill and a 1970's craftsman...

    GX390 + 10Si = juice

Wouldn't that be turning the alternator backwards? Shouldn't be an issue for your application, but under a hot car hood might overheat. Long as the belt stays put, ive got no complaints.

Predator 212 to 420 swapout footprint, both ways...........

Most of the backplates only have one set of holes drilled in them. But I don't see any reason why clocking it another direction would cause issues. Just make a cardboard template by tracing and cutting out the 4 bolt holes and center, turn it to your needs, center punch and drill new holes...

    Free Buggy thing

Cool, I used the gx270 cause that's what I had on the shelf, run whatcha brung, ammi rite? Ill try my best adam. 40 series TC setup- https://www.ombwarehouse.com/40-series-1-torque-converter-with-plate.html The description says it comes with a reverse wound spring for the driven, but it's...

Predator 212 to 420 swapout footprint, both ways...........

Hope this helps visualize it. I would not worry about the motor so much as the torque converter. The 30 series is not gonna like the 18.4 ft/lbs of the 420cc, nearly twice what the 212 puts out. And the 40 series setup is quite a bit bigger that the 30, I think this is where your going to...

    New here first build

Well I successfully swapped a gx270 onto a similar kart recently. From the pics I have seen, the rear swingarm and gy6 engines on yours and my kart should be near identical, would not doubt we could swap them. Check out this thread ifya wanna see what your in for...

    Electric Start In General

Already exists. Found inside honda eu3000 generators. Part # 28400-ZS9-A04. Should just bolt on gx200s and predator 212s. And you can still pull start it too. But without a charging system, electric start is still kinda pointless. Especially if you put the work in to make your own that...

    All Power

Sounds like you need a carburetor , not a rebuilt kit. Or are you just mean something like a tune up kit?

    Stumped

Mad relax with the split sprockets , 6 to 1 is the factory gear ratio for the kart. There's no guess work involved. And there is not room for a sprocket bigger than 72t , at least enough to make any difference. And it's not even his kart. All the OP needs to do it revert it to factory and he...

    Stumped

Good news, thats the factory tire size, no problems there. About 15in tall is the size limit for using a centrifugal clutch. And the engine rpm is good. Bad news, some one swapped the axle sprocket to that 36t in an attempt to make the kart faster. So right now, with your clutchs engagement...

    Stumped

Picture time please. Or simply just read the text on the rear tires, and relay what size they are. Only other possibility other that gear ratio or tire size is the RPM of the engine is too low to fully engage the clutch. But you said the driven sprocket is only 36t, that is clearly too...

    Stumped

Gear ratio way off. It should look something like this. Help us help you by sharing a picture, I suspect a previous owner has changed the axle sprocket to the way to small 36t, or put bigger tires on the kart than factory, or both.

    Bird Baja Build

Notice the engine has a 120v plug in starter? And the double V- belt pulley that someone decided to use neither, and run the belt between them instead? Does that scream factory to you? Its a snowblower engine someone poorly hacked onto the kart. The tensioner arm was for the wheel drive of...

Predator 212 bogging at slight throttle.

It won't. It's what you do to it when its out , or what you replace it with. Yes you need to take it out and do something with it. I just season to taste. It effects what your having problems with. Your carb has two circuits , with their own jets. One low, one high. Your only playing with...
