212 Predator performance kits from BMI Karts

Nothing terribly wrong with GPS, but they just sell the same stuff as others with an inflated price tag. The cost of all their advertising / youtube sponsorships comes from your pocket, if you buy from them. I miss the early days of youtube, where things where uploaded for fun , not just for...

Help tillotson 212 stage 2 with very little low end

Well the camshaft you installed reduces low end torque. It might just need steeper gearing to take advantage of the increased power at high rpms, and/or higher engagement speed of the clutch, think 3k stall instead of factory 2200rpm. What have you done with the carb? GPS advises at least...

Yerf Dog Predator 212 oil problem

I would ask for a copy of the invoice / receipt for parts purchased. Just so you know what ya got. If the governor, airbox, and muffler are still in place, you were likely sold a bone stock motor Was the oil ever changed? Maybe start there

    Any Steering Options?

Id start by reading this thread https://www.diygokarts.com/community/threads/go-kart-steering-very-heavy-hard-to-turn.46986/#post-586290 But that's what makes it a go kart, and more importantly fun!

    Need some advice Please

I would start out by figuring out what the kart is, and what was the factory motor. Looks like some prior welding / mods were done to the frame. Just because it had the sled engine bolted to it does not mean it worked right. Then if nothing else, break out the sharpie, spin the input and...

Go-Kart Steering Very "Heavy" (Hard to Turn)

Yeah, increase leverage at the sacrifice of steering angle. You can only do so much without a rack. It's probably gonna be fine once it's rolling, just as I said check it over for binding. Make sure to lubricate the joints , and a grease zerk on the bushings won't hurt ( sorry im a...

Go-Kart Steering Very "Heavy" (Hard to Turn)

If nothing is binding you simply need more leverage. That will reduce steering angle. That's where the rack and pinion allows both I've shortened rack and pinions before, and extending to any size needed shouldn't be much more difficult. Cut, weld , zip tie boot , done. Then fabricate...

    Post your finished projects!!!

Just got a throttle cable on it and went for a rip. Needs a bigger main jet than 135 but oh my she hauls. Pulls wheelies from stop to 20+ mph , has the torque to push snow. Should really boogie after some carb work. And very smooth, no vibration in the handles. And this motor has the balance...

Welcome! So to clarify , you only had issues after tweaking on things? What did you want to achieve? Can you post a few photos of the linkage, and/or where you were modifying it? Help us help you! Also most bike mechanics will struggle to fix a lawn mower, or just don't care to. Different...

    Milling head on drill press?

Thanks, yeah I started with the 100 then will finish with the 150. If I was running a thin steel or copper gasket I would go finer, but with the thick graphite gaskets, having a bit of texture seems to give the gasket something to bite into, if that makes sense. If anyone tries this at home...
