    Oh dear, you have it backwards. When you shut down an O/A setup, you shut off the oxygen valve, followed by the acetylene. Shutting off the acetylene first has the potential for "flash back", with the acetylene flame trying to travel back down the oxygen-rich hoses and burn them inside out.

    Sugar Land. I fixed it, but I might as well buy a new CVT. That stamped roller plate is supposed to be pressed onto that shaft. Sheared right off. I did a quick-fix at the expense of MUCH taller gearing... and it worked, but it's an off road ped and now there's no low end :\

    Yes, it's true. Not oldschool oxyfuel welding. I adjust my wire feed and stickout all the time while GMAWing. A flux cored machine works fine for your purposes, or a stick welder. I'd go with wire for a newbie though. MAPP gas has less energy in it, but you can absolutely weld with it. Need...
