    Lawn tractor?

On many of the JD lawn tractors they suffer from a voltage drop at the starter. Sometimes will drag or not work at all even with a hot batt. Add a starter relay kit, ##AM107421 and that problem will go away. When the starter is engaged, this kit allows the full 12 volts to the starter and no...

Briggs and stratton ID help please

You is right about the R. There is a chance that old dog was a military job used as a pump engine. I see it was painted green and I have seen a few of them restored and in sad condition. Does the oil fill have a chain on it? That is usually a dead give away it was a military engine. Keep it...

    Are these tires any good?

Bbqjoe, the metal valve caps help but to get maximum HP, I mix my air special. Two days prior to mixing, I have a few good helpings of beans, corn bread and onions. It really makes you blow and go. Mounting the tires upside-down will sometimes help.

1954 Briggs and Stratton Model 5S

Yer Gettin' there Courts. You gonna love this thing, it's cute when it is running. Your fuel tank looks a little worse than mine did but I filled it with some old swing set chain and diesel, sealed it up shook the heck out of it every time I walked by it for a week. I washed it out, added...

1954 Briggs and Stratton Model 5S

Try Jimenginedecals on Flea-pay. Yes, some parts are expensive but I just watched and waited and picked up a few pieces pretty reasonable. I got the intake valve for $7.50-free ship but never was able to find an exhaust valve. I found one NOS but passed on the $20 price. Just take your time...

1954 Briggs and Stratton Model 5S

It can be done!! I started with a 1952 5S last summer and found that just about any part you may need is available. There are lots on Flea-pay. The only part I found that is hard to locate is the exhaust valve, everything else is pretty easy including period correct decals. Good luck and...

Predator 212 stalls when warmed up?

For what its worth, I had the same problem with my Predator 212. My problem was with the fuel tank vent. I had run a longer hose from the tank and zip tied it in a horizontal position on the frame rail with a plastic fuel filter in the end. I found the filter would fill with fuel and cause me...
