Based on advice from the forum and the OP matter of fact, I too have just taken possession of some cheap Welfare-Mart tires. Mine are "Greenball Rib 15X6.00-6 4 Ply Lawn and Garden Tire".

Priced much higher from other sources all over the web, I found them there but I hadn't even considered W-M for my karting needs.

I'll report to DIY if they fail to pass muster but so far they appear to be quality...

I usually get burned when playing with fire. I'd opt for the 12 dollar install fee too. I have never tired to put tires on rims but seems like $50 might be worth the frustration and burns.

Yes. I have them on my other kart too. Good little tires, I just remember paying like 21 bucks last year!
I just like to help. See I am not just a GoPowerSports.com whoar! :lolgoku:

You should try to...DIY at least once. Now getting burned, I'd never considered that to be a problem until I saw this:

The name of the video maker sounds familiar....

I learned this years ago, and while driving truck in the middle of no where once where the mechanic forgot the cheeta, I was actually able to show him this trick so I could finish the day. Usually use something less flammable.

I've used hairspray and starting fluid and brake clean. The fuse is important and need to squirt all the way around the inside on bigger tires and sometimes you have to kick the tire to get it to explode. Most I think I've ended up with is like 25 or 30 psi. Which can be a life saver if your in the woods and need to seat and air up a tire.

I've never seen the fire method before but it's amazing how it works. Definitely a good trick when you're up the creek with no paddle...

I was looking at getting these to put on some 4 inch rimsvi salvaged from getting thrown away, cause the tires sidewalls where shot. Non harbor freight ones. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Greenball...75035&wl11=online&wl12=42746802&wl13=&veh=sem

Those should be good to go and they're the exalted "sawtooths", no less. I'm betting they're Cheng Shin or Kenda--both quality tire makers.

Every time I try the Fire method I just end up with a... flaming tire still not on the bead.
But I have tried it.
So Hellion calling my Mr. Safety all the time is NOT always true.:cornut:

No kidding. Small world! :)

Those two features were definitely what I was looking for even though my initial desire was for slicks. Slicks in this size were not easy to find however.

The 4 Ply Rating means a better all-around tire and I found that was typical of the ribbed tires.

Since the mini bike is going to be mostly for street use (and probably top out near 60 mph) I need to get rid of the knobby tires. Willing to put out some cashola for tires/rims here.

What do you like, slicks?

You have to seat one side of the tire to get it to work. Also the kick is sometimes needed. Sometimes it just goes and other times you gotta help it out. Helps to have an extra rim to set the rim on so you can seal one bead of the tire.

Not this much spray and I'd make a fuse across the ground lol.
