Are these tires any good?

I ordered some tires. When they came in the mail they were squash and flatten. My question is once I install and put air in them will they reshape.

I agree with these guys. I do front end and brake work at a tire shop, and we get bundled tire all the time. None have been a problem yet.

It say 50psi max I think that's extreme there's 20 psi in them now and feel solid.

Well since everybody does everything to the extreme here, I'd go with 110 psi.

I would have added a stronger valve spring, and shaved the key way, that adds more compression, which equals more horse power. Pretty simple really.






Just put some air in them. I don't use a gauge. I just push on them with my thumb. Too hard and it's a bumpy ride. Air down a little for some squish. Too low and you'll get uneven wear.

Most people don't know this, but putting on a taller gasket on the valve cover adds about 30cc's.

To be honest, I'm not even sure what those are, but I'm gonna guess you'll get at least a few more HP.

Another way to add compression is to make the cylinder volume smaller.
You can take up some cylinder space by adding a few ounces of lead shot through the spark plug hole. I use #7 shot.

It sounds awful when you first start it up, but eventually the lead melts and adheres to the top of the piston, making the piston much taller.

I don't know what I was thinking.

To get more HP out of your tires, use metal valve caps.

Bbqjoe, the metal valve caps help but to get maximum HP, I mix my air special. Two days prior to mixing, I have a few good helpings of beans, corn bread and onions. It really makes you blow and go. Mounting the tires upside-down will sometimes help.

This is good info right here. ^^^

Another helpful trick that will get you another horse or two, is if you rotate the tires three times counter clockwise before tightening the nuts.
