I just found this attached to my bike/engine.
It's sorta square, but more roundish.
I can't quite tell if it's welded or bolted on. Sometimes it makes a weird noise that I can't really describe, but I have no idea whatsoever what it does.
It doesn't have any wires or hoses attached to it. It might be part of the engine but I'm not sure.
I'm trying to decide whether to remove it or just leave it.
If I try to take it off, how should I go about it?

What should I do?

Sorry no pics.

that's the piston return spring fluid reservoir,
for hydraulic combustion engines it needs to stay in place..
but lick it every couple of hours (or have it licked by your dog) since it needs to be sticky in order to work..

Could be a decepticon, whatever you do dont touch it or give it a dirty look. Does it resemble any of these ?

I think it is a whack Bonk, or a Taco bender! Either way you do not need it on your Mini.

I had the dog lick it (the sausage, I'd never do that to my dear Abby)
And it appeared to stick. I wasn't certain whether is was a burn stick, or a frozen kinda stick.

The strange part is that I hadn't started the bike all day.
I considered grabbing the dog and just pulling it off, but both the wife and I are reluctant to even pet the sausage, let alone grab hold of it.

I elected to the only option I could think of, since thrown water didn't free it. I fired the bike up, after checking the oil, fuel, and tire pressure.
I headed down the driveway at a fair clip. The dog kept up the pace with its tongue firmly attached to the whatever it is.

I came home, parked the bike, turned it off and came in for dinner.

Holy Banoonies! The dog's still out there! BBL!!!!!

Wow you guys are lucky I'm here. What you got there is a kanewton valve. In your case a self adjusting model. Lucky for you cause they can be finicky farging cork smokers. A few guys have tried to mod them, usually end up producing reverse Newton meters. Then you have to throw the whole thing in a giant centrifuge along with sun cooked balogna.

They're never quite the same though.

Time to break out the Crisco oil and peanut butter ..... The poor dog will shy away from motors for a while... Lesson learned right?
Well it's bad enough the bike is stuck to its tongue, I'm afraid if I use peanut butter, the bike might get stuck to the roof of her mouth.

Tomorrow's Sunday, otherwise I might load them both up, and take them to the Harley shop and see what they can do.

Stop right where you are. Do NOT remove that part!! That is a Type 3 Hybird 58 Max Interval Eludium K-72 High Volume Bakewell B.S. Unit with Hollingsworth up-grade internals with adjustable Blivit tube. If removed it will affect the operation of the Sonar Takeestascope Klyde-Byde Baditer and you will never ride safe in your world again. Remove ONE mounting screw and it will release the Dog in under 5 minutes. Replace the screw and hit the unit once with a rubber mallet and you should be good to go.

This thing has no screws. Now what?
Also coyotes were circling my bike this morning.
The wife sometimes hates the dog as much as I do, but she can't bear to see it gobbled.

Not one single part of that post was a question, just instructions. If you fail to follow them, the consequences are yours to bear.....
