Hang the welder!
The welder guy is the least of my worries. I think master hacks basement dwellers came in the middle of the night and worked on it.

I was messing with the front shock adjustments. Because of the excessive rake, they need to be much softer on compression and rebound.
It rode so much better. The handeling was improved and i was enjoying a few laps around the track.

My gps said I hit 31 mph with a little more left.
Then at the furthest from the shop, quiet.

Thats all she wrote.
Crankshaft froze solid.
No new vent holes.
Stay tuned for autopsy pics.

And that was a stock motor of the power washer, right?
Yes. Unknown. It ran, so I just ran with it.

Riddle me this batman, on the bench it spins freely.

No funny noises. Still has a compression stroke. Gave a squirt and a drill spin and I got a few pops.

Im stumped.

Continue tear down and find nothing? Or stick it back and then what?

I say Gremlins. But my 3am eastern time wake up for tomorrow says it is time for bed. Dinner and sleep.

After chasing gremlins out of the shop and a few more runs around the track, I think the shakedown runs are over, and it's time to continue.

I stripped everything back down to the bare frame.

I found another badly rusted spot in the frame. I did the same as last time: I shoved a slug of metal in the hole, welded it, and ground it until you couldn't tell.

I got the axle mounting areas cleaned up a bit.

Not perfect, but much better.

This is where I had to trim the spine for engine clearance. I didn't see the Bluetooth welds here. Maybe that's the cause of all the frame flex I was having.

Back in the scrap bin. Cut, bend, and trim.

And some awesome welding. That tube is so thin; it's hard not to blow through it.

And then I made a new tab for the seat mount out of some thicker stock.

Hopefully, there should be some room for spark plug maintenance.

It's slowly getting the paint removed.
Chrome would be pretty cool.
Im not gonna try that hard. Im still gonna use the copper/green hypercolor. Im just debating on which base color to go with. Copper or black.
Black is recommended and the color change is more dramatic.
But the copper base makes for a cool lighter transition.
Ive done a test run on some scrap. Still not sure.
Maybe the frame copper and the tank and fender black?

Got a pic of the test pieces you painted? I would agree on copper frame with black accents, but need some pics.
