Sounds like it. They just called me. They're boxing it up to ship now. 😁
You jus turned into a regular ol turd motor mechanic, did ya??? πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚ 😹

Whats wrong with that big test tank??? If you could get it mounted and stable, them kids could ride for days on a tank of gas, πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚ 😹 πŸ˜†

I noticed the throttle is not going WOT, cas the big part of cable is too long. That's an ez fix.

Also, drill a new hole for the gov spring, and move it over. Jus like the non hemi, in the same spot.

It will gain 300-400 more rpm, get the kart to moving quicker, gov will still work as it does, jus gonna start pushing back a lil later in rpm. Get all you can outta these gov'ed engines, they can handle it and last a long time.

When you get that driven off, count teeth on sprockets. If you need a change, its soooo much easier changing the top sprocket, and cheaper too.
You will figure out what gear it needs.

Looks like you have some good level smooth ground to ride on, you probably don't need to be aggressive on the gearing for 2 people.

I've had a little help along the way! ☝️πŸ€ͺ

The lid isn't a screw type and it leaks when you start bouncing around.

I moved the governor spring. I also wired the kill switch, changed the oil, mounted the seat bottom, and lubed some moving parts. It almost looks red in some places if you knock the dirt off. The wood for the bottom isn't going to last long. I couldn't get the nuts tight because the bolt is loose inside the seat. So it's not going to last long.

I checked and it is 60 / 10T. I forgot to size up the chain (40 series). The driven rod is 5/8" so I ordered the 7" driven. I pulled the driver apart and lightly sanded and hit the outer part with brake cleaner. I'll put some dry lube on the inside shell (not the weights/springs) and reassemble it. I have a new stock and white spring I can put in it.

Or do you think that's more torque than it needs? I also thought about moving the red spring on the driven but it's probably fine in the middle. It's easy enough to move if I decide to later but I sorta want to see what it'll do and then turn it down for the kids.

It used to have seat belts but someone cut them. I definitely need to order some before the kids ride.

Yea, I think 1 white and 1 plain will be fine. It should put it around 2600 rpm before engagement.

As for the driven, since it's got a 6:1 gear, I'd wait and see how it pulls the kids with spring in the middle. When it gets into the high side of the tav, and engine jus won't pull any more rpm, you could add a 9t to the jackshaft, that'll make it a 6.66:1. But wait and see how it does.

On my mini, i run a 20" rear tire and with any stock 212, i have to run a 6.66:1 gear, 7" driven. But your terrain is totally opposite of mine.

Since you moved that spring over, I'm sure you can hear the higher rpm now.

I agree about seat belts and kids. Their lil butts seems to bounce more then us heavy weights.

It's looking good, don't look like it's been beat to death.

Keep up the good work!!!! πŸ‘

Back in post # 1 you ask for any pro tips. I don't think this is pro, but your latest pictures show a problem I had with both of mine. Severely bent pedals, especially the brake pedal. Yours almost looks like it is bent 45 degrees. It's from people stabbing that band brake. They actually work pretty good if you push hard enough. After straightening mine out I had a small triangle gusset welded between the flat of the pedal and the upright piece. Very ridged now.
No flex. Was worried about one of the Grandkids foot slipping off, and from the looks of yours you should be also.

The parts from Dover came in super fast! I actually received them yesterday but the wife took them in and didn't tell me. Everything is on the motor and she's humming a sweet tune.

But I'm having issues with the torque converter. The 7" driven is on with a 203591 belt. The clutch is on with a new spring and white spring, lightly sanded and lightly lubed with Blaster multi purpose lubricant. The dry lube I ordered hasn't come in yet and don't until early May. The second I crank it, the belt is grabbing. It's still on stands, thankfully. I can't barely stop the tire my foot or with the brakes.

The clutch and driven are lined pretty well IMO. I've removed the clutch a few times to mess with it. I even opened the driven and moved the red spring so it'd engage at a higher RPM. No matter what I do, the belt grabs immediately at idle.

I'm thinking it's from the lube I used in the clutch. My only idea is to take it apart and try to remove the lube with brake cleaner. Can I lube it with a dab of motor oil, like the guys do on centrifugal clutches?

The belt on right?? I'm sure it is, as many times you have taken the other 1 off, πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚ 😹 πŸ˜†
Measure center to center shafts. That's not a backplate set up. Centers may be off. I think those have adjustable jackshaft mounts. If so loosen it up a bit.

I don't recommend any oil on the tav anywhere.

Yep it's on right. I cleaned all the oil off. The jackshaft is just a straight through rod. Right now it's unbolted so I can slide it back and forth freely. Even with no bolts in the drive or driven, with the belt on, if I try to turn the wheel I can feel it grabbing hard on the drive side.

I'm about to break out the Dremel and start polishing this thing, lol.

Get a pic of the back of jackshaft mount. It seems like they are on a separate plate. Idk, the only yerf dogs that come around here are all broken front ends and I turn them away. I don't wanna work on em, then somebody get hurt.

It cant move forward anymore. It's gotta be centers of shafts are farther apart. Measure those centers. I bet it takes a 92 belt.
It's 6.75". Only about a 1/8th more than the other. I measured them earlier. That belt is supposed to be good up to 6-7/8".

Something don't sound right. Does the engine have slots to move forward. I m asking because maybe the 6" driven might work with that belt, if engine moves forward enough.

I just finished polishing the driver with a dry Dremel pad. If that don't work, I'll see if I can move the motor back some.

Check that the weights are in driver the right way.
I'm pretty sure they're right. I've taken it apart several times. The jackshaft can't be adjusted. It's already against the motor plate.

I've tried 2 belts to confirm, lol.

I tried the 6" driven but the belt was pretty lose. As a last resort I can go back to that and buy some smaller belts.

Through some combination of playing with things I got it where I can stop the tire with my foot. I think I may try to go for a test drive and see if things loosen up some.
