My dad isnt crazy about motorcycles either. But he will still support me and help with the fund's to fix up my 250. He just say's be carefull.
im 18 and seriously fed up with this. ive been seriously thinking of taking my stuff and going to my grandparents. theyd be thankful for me being there.
@braden. my dad would let me do 1-4 on your list, but no driving. hes overprotective too.
@kenny- my mom is cool w/ anything i do within resaon
i cant seem to find any technical info on this engine. like how much oil, etc. and im not paying for a service manual

How much oil? Fill untill dipstick reads desired ammount.

well i spent about 3 hours today going over the wring harness. i had the wiring diagram from a klr650, its a bit diferent because of electric start and some connecters are diferent. then i come back in take another look at the service manual and theres a nice color wiring digram that exactly fits. OMG 
im probably going to make a sidewinder type buggy just have the engine behind the seat

It would be better to have the motor on the side according to the plans, otherwise the sidewinder design would have a rear mounted engine.

Might not be a bad idea to put a small filter on it. On my GS500 engine the breather pipe goes into the airbox, where it can get filtered air. A separate breather has a small foam filter on it (no idea why it needs 2. I think 1 is the carb, and 1 is the engine)
well i got the parts and hooked it up and was checking if theres a spark. i did that by kickin it over.
the thing is that there is barely any oil in there and now it seams seized. it turns over harder now. kinda as if the compression release died. did i **** up bad?

if you were just turning it over with your foot, i doubt it. does it feel like lots of compression or lots of friction?

Its called the thing has been sititng and the bore was rather dry, you played with it and got oil back in the bore.
