Sadly, I just had to get rid of my truck the other week.. A 1973 Ford F100. Had a 302 with custom headers into dual glass pack exhaust at mid sides. She was a beast! Sadly right before I left for basic training 5 years ago she stopped running due to a timing/distributor issue. She sat for the 4 years that I was gone.. It was a rough four years and now I had neither the time nor money to get her going again and back to her former glory. I sold her to a guy I knew who operated a parts business... It feels good knowing she will go to other trucks piece by piece making runners out there...

LOL. I wrote it like a sad sop story! Great truck though... Hoping to buy another after I buy my house.

i went to napa and they ordered it and i got it today. then i went to a hardware store to get the fitting. i installed it, and it LEAKED AGAIN out the fitting. i took the fitting off and noticed it was OVAL shaped..... not sealing... so i went back to the hardware store and they let me exchange for a higher quality pipe bushing. after that it didnt leak.

i drained the oil then noticed the drain plug was STRIPPED. guess what fit? the old spark plug from the old kawasaki 3 wheeler. haha redneck but it works for now...

then i drained the transfer case and when i went to remove the fill cap that was stripped too!!!!! i used a piece of a chain wedged into my ratchet and it worked good enough to get it out. i put it back in loose enough so i can replace it soon.

got my permit yesterday and got the truck registered today and drove for 10 miles! my first time driving. stalled it once so far.

You should have a wire coming off that plug, going up into the dash or something...
Someone looking under there... "Ummm... sparkplug?"
:D

dont know if there was some sort of clip holding it in... if it should slide out, Im gon beat that thing till the stupid thing comes out...
Tired of the thing sitting where it is... :mad2:

somebody welded the rear driveshaft pins in. what the heII. hopefully those wont need to be replaced for a while.

good news that its easy to do...

@BM, i dont know how to take the front axle out. whats broken, the joints, diff,?

heres how i fixed that water outlet. wires are short so i probably have to splice some in.

the remains of a leaf spring.....

the remains of a fuel line

remains of a shock

Well u got what u payed for

U are going to have fun with all that rust
Best bit is oxy acetylene won't cut rust very well
So u get to scrap and sand for hours before u start cutting and replacing

sounds like fun. i dont have a torch though i think my school might.

not sure if i already said this but the truck has dual gas tanks. the one next to the driveshaft works, and is in good condition but the rear tank is shot and doesnt hold anything.

the bolts are rusted and theres no way they will come out. so in order to remove the tank i think i have to remove the front tank to prevent fire, then fill the rear tank with water and cut the brackets....

smells like 15 year old gas :ack2:

trust me some of the rusted bolts i got outa bulldozer track frames will suprize anyone
no offence to any indonesians but some of the machines that come out of there must have had no maitainence and worked there whole life in the sea

heat them up red hot
(just before u start melting the head )
then let them cool a little and sray crc on them till they cool right off (not busted *** wd 40 that will achieve nothing ) and crack them off

works every time

also it may pay to get the socket size down from the origonal head size and hammer it on if the head is rusted up
and it must be six sided, 12 sided will round it right off

if u are going to deal in rust then expect to break tools
hammering sockets on will break a couple, that why i get snap on u just take them back and he exchanges them

and undoing red hot bolts will cook a few spanners and sockets
