my list of things to do:

-figure out how to get this truck registered
-fix everything

i dont know anything about emissions or inspections in CT. ill have to do some research.

it has a BRAND NEW muffler and 02 sensor. he has $800 into it and hasnt drove it

EDIT: yes it is gasoline. its a straight 6

EDIT: oh yeah a strange thing about it has 3 keys. one for the glove box, one for the ignition, and another for the doors.

It isnt titled/registered? :surrender:

You got his title signed over to you, right? Take that down to the DMV, along with any required paperwork and a bill of sale if required, and pickup your new plate. Title is sent in the mail.

Someone probably replaced the ignition switch and was too lazy to switch out tumblers.

My dad has '91 Chevy 1500 truck Lots of power. But only 15 mpg. I would recomend a volvo 760 turbo, it's not a truck but very good car. 25mpg and 0-60 in 6 seconds. I bought mine for 500. If you get one I can tell you some relay info you'll need to know.

Yay for 300 I6, too bad it's the butterface gen F-Series.

i heard some good things about the motor. but i like the truck too. the appearance to me is much better than a newer ('96+) F series

my mom has a newer (07,08?) volvo car and i honestly cant drive something like that, aha. its low to the ground and really complex. lots of plastic, but i guess every newer car has that.

the engine sounds like a hairdryer hahaha

it has a title but hasnt been registered in several years. it sat for a long time.

i think the owner before the last has the registration paper stuff. so the man who is selling it to me has to get these papers from the last guy (his friend) through mail. hopefully he has them by saturday.

he told me it has 3 keys because back in the 80's this helped theft i guess? because if someone takes only one key they wont be able to get in and start it.

but i think the best way to prevent theft in the US is to drive a manual.... 95% of americans cant drive them!

They definitely didn't come with 3 separate keys from the factory. Older (60's, 70's) cars had separate keys for the doors/ignition and trunk.

Looks like a pretty sweet truck! Someday I'll get me one of those (right after I get my dual sport, or Yamaha RD motorcycle :D). You must have had a pretty good day, I spent all afternoon cutting 3/8" steel plate with a 4.5" angle grinder... on the floor :ack2: LOL, slow work, angle grinder overheated numerous times.

I'm interested to see how you fix this thing up. For some strange reason I just got the idea that painting it kawasaki green would be awesome, LOL :rolleyes3:

i have a lot of work to do. that includes upgrading the speakers(maybe) and wire in a connector i can plug my phone into for music.

the rear suspension is trashed, it has one shock on the right side and no left shock or mount, and broken leaf spring. he got leaf springs from a '96 F-150 in a junk yard and new upgraded shocks, shock mounts, and leaf spring hardware.

he got a LMC truck part catalog and im going to get new floor pans and cab corners and stuff.

also going to change all fluids
