WD-40 and a rag, wipe down all the bare metal. When you go to paint you'll have to use thinner or some solvent to remove the WD-40, but it will keep the rust down in the meantime.

that allthread is pretty soft. I`d either thread two ends of a steel rod or find a piece of tubing , cut the heads off two bolts, and weld the threads in the ends of the tube

so i have a problem... i have finished the go kart. all i need is the chain clutch and sprocket. here is my problem i have 12 inch diameter tires in the back and the ones up front are total crap. i dont now what to do because i now i need like a 60 tooth sprocket andi dont think that the sprocket would be able to fit cause i have such small tires. so basicly i need a new set of 4 bigger tires:( i have spent alot on this go kart and dident want to spen much.. but 4 new tires would be like 200. so if you guys have any suggestions on what i could do that would be great thx.

You could have two stages? Instead of say, going from 10 to 60, go from 10 to 30, and then from 10 to 30 again, same ratio, smaller sprockets.

Not as straight forward :)D) as just going straight to the wheels but,

I dunno, new tires can't be your only option, and the bigger wheels the more teeth you'll need anyway, you don't really win.

FINISHED

i finished yesterday but cant drive yet cause when the moter speeds up the slack on the bottom side of the chain causes it to grind on the sprocket and miss a link and jolt... so i bought a chain tesioner

but cant wait to drive:wai::wai::wai:

i wll PAINT IT TOOOO
