Please, just humor me here. How much have you spent on paint so far? And how much more do you plan on spending? If it's over $20 for black paint, you've wasted your money and reinforced my original idea further.

Granted you do need to supplement this with spray paint to make it UV resistant, it's better than what you've had and will not chip...ever!

It's mild steel. Just let it rust up for a week and POR15 it. BigHead, will 4oz cover this kart?

i figured my problem had to do with the amount of paint i was putten on. just threw on a coat of black staying far back and making sure it was really light and it made it extremly hard to scratch of in some parts i couldent scratch it off. will try the same with primer see if it works and if it does, but still chips a littlle will throw on a clear coat thx man :)

nooooo i solved my problem the primer works, but apaently the paint i have doesnt work with primer.. the reason the paint alone wasnt workin before is because my coats were way to thick. Just tried it on a really rusted peice and wated a day dident scratch off at all.

so my plan clean the metal paint it without primer do 3 or 2 really light coats and then hit is with clear coat and we should be good

Hello,

I am building the same gokart off the plans, as you may know from my topic. I would like to change to rear design, as I would like to use pillow block bearings. I've seen your modified rear swingarm looks really nice!
Is it possible to get some rough dimensions from your swingarm?
Also, are you happy with it? Does it work well? Better than your first design?
How long are your shocks you're using?

Regards,
Nodroz
