You better add some more bars to that cage. The way it is now even in a slow roll over it will fold like a cheap suit.

Can’t be on the road with this one as the cop down the road might not be to keen as it’s very close to a car not a small gokart. With that being said I have gearing options to make this a glorified farm tractor and have 100’s of trails to ride in. having freedom to ride roads when others aren’t aloud to is awesome. But sometimes you just got to get into the woods and get all muddy. it’s going to be geared to be very very slow and i’m not to worried about rolling the thing.

Riding a trail with that beast will turn your guts to jello with no suspension, sorry ,it hurts to even think about off-road in that !

Same shocks on the front suspension now. down from 299$ to just 99$ so I might actually pick up a set for the front of the buggy.226E3D43-69FE-4259-B6C9-77296076551A.jpeg

I'm pretty sure that those VW's are light cars, but would your kart even be in the same ballpark weight wise?
The vehicle weight has to be in the range of the suspension ratings or it will be ineffective.

with the shocks on it now the front end is like a trampoline. i didn’t really think about how much new ones would stiffen that up. I’m most likely just leave what’s on there on there. I’m sure the suspension on it is better then nothing at all.

I've seen quite a few suspension parts listed on kart sites.
You might find something there.

When dealing with shocks and springs, remember that shocks are motion dampening and springs are load bearing.
High pressure shocks do some load bearing but are quickly overwhelmed with G-loads.
Its the springs that have to cover a range of load, from static height/small bumps to harsh/big bottoming bumps.

Fired up first pull.. Idle was a bit low turned that up and let it run awhile. cracked the throttle a few times and it started creeping forward. Let it idle a bit more then shut it off. After a break I went back out and again first pull and idled so well. Very very very raspy. I did buy a can of expensive premix so I’m sure that helped. Now to hook up the throttle to the linkage rod. 90E53305-2AD8-4A9B-90E6-49DB28C62CF6.jpeg29B94011-62BE-424F-B2C2-8FDF6495250E.jpeg

I would take all that squared off frame work you got back there and make a nice and big filtered air box for that carb.
Might even consider incorporating a support bracket for the carb end. Its likely to get a bit of whipping action in that location.
