maybe I’m just imagining :censored: Anyway I hooked up fuel the half correct way and it pours out of every place it can! Let it dry up and it fires right off and idled fine? Not sure what’s up maybe I didn’t ruin it? I’m now on the hunt for a new carburetor.

This carburetor might still be good after all. the Fuel pump diaphragm works great even by hand pumping fuel for test. it pumped a bunch of muddy water out. now to finish a half crap deep clean and slam it all back together. WaIbro hda 30 or hd30 the diaphragm is clean now.D0745EF4-44B7-4B8D-A5A4-3696CEDE8B25.jpegF635E758-8AE0-4CE7-B396-AFE92BDD03AE.jpeg

Ok so making assumptions testing the fuel pump diaphragm it pumped out mud. So pouring gas in the heads lit it off and sucked mud into the bottom end. Not good but procrastination aside I have the carburetor much cleaner and almost together. I’ll update when I test it with good gas and a fuel source hooked up. Sorry for the repetitive random stuff but it’s been a wild ordeal just figuring out a 440 bin parts engine myself. The snowmobile forums and other places have been zero help and I’m better then most with a google bar :sifone: So I am slowly learning.

:cornut: I'm here as a moral support test dummy....I got your back :cheers2:

I'll be in the corner waiting for updates :sifone:
Hahahaha heck ya awesome! And as far as updates the carburetor cleaned up to look new inside almost but it took along time. great news is with a line connected the needle and seat now function to regulate fuel so that’s much better then it all clogged up with old gas and dumping everywhere. Now that The line is full I got to get off my but and go pull the thing to see what happens. like always food first.

It runs! Scared me to death! I was just informed both Oiler ports are open and a vacuum leak. sucking in the extra air it revved up pretty high! It wouldn’t shut off either hahahah wiggled the key and thank gosh it shut off. I was about to grab the plug wires and pull‘em off.

Not a Polaris engine. Rockwells were in Rupp I think. It’s been over 30 years since I played with sleds, and I slept since then. Do not run it without a pipe on it. No a muffler for a 4 stroke engine will not work. That engine looks like late 60s - early 70s. Point gap should be .016. That’s about all I can tell you.
I just picked up a tunnel ram and a pair of 660 center squirters for a Chevy 454 I’m building for my vette. By the way I need a 454.

Mnts of the farthest NE TN you can go
But a 2x8 worked better, they would just process rags and towels.
True...but a big one would stop them...my Dream Vehicle...HIJACK...sorry OP...PD-4501 Scenicruiser

I’ve seen 2 6-71s come apart in person the fireball was remarkable and the shrapnel was scary. C02 fire extinguishers are the only true way to shut down a runaway!
55GMC scenicruiser nice! But I’d rather have a gasser Futurliner!!!

Hijack the world. Ps: I know a four stroke exhaust won’t work it has an exhaust now. rowdy two stroke beast I fired it up let it idle and noticed the carburetor flooding but you know I had to crack the throttle for the first time ever. It’s a feeling of fear and anxiousness and everything else rolled into one. not sure why an ol 350 is not scary but a twin two stroke has me near the keyswitch like the old timers were ready with a mudflap to cut the air supply. It fires up I can rev it. Then it stops taking throttle idles down and dies.. for 100$ I figured out some real hack ways getting what I want for this engine without spending an extra penny... If I could just get it to idle I’m so close. Figuring out somthing completely new like this is scary for me and I don’t know why even. I guess in my mind until I can control it from the butterfly and it’s not acting crazy I’m just unsure and cautious? I wish I had a Snowmobile guru who would just show up and laugh at me for being worried pop the carb back apart and check it re-assemble and tinker without fear.

Pulled the idle air screw out. I was afraid to do this at first as I didn’t know where it was set. the whole thing is packed with rust so no idle circuit. I’ll get this cleaned up and just keep trying. I guess the carb wasn’t as clean as I thought I got it.3B1E00B8-745E-47DD-BE65-9E11B25CBED5.jpeg

Still not idling but revs nice and I’m a little more comfortable with it now. Decided to forget about the engine that now at least runs and focus on steering. wheels off a lot of new bolts tighten the front up and finish up the rack steering. the rack now functions and it steers ok. All that is left there is some finish welding and 3 fine thread bolts for the steering wheel. The master cylinder has clean brake fluid in it so one I get the steering finished I’ll work on bleeding the caliper.
