Systems Check

To connect the throttle cable to the thumb throttle, I simply drilled a hole, ran the cable thru it & used a "wire nut" as a "stop" to come in contact with &/or "trigger" it, as the cable travels

Seems to work quite nicely :2guns:

Then, I did a quick check to make sure everything is functioning properly.

Made a video of the "check" too :cheers2:

Well, the loaded RPM test wasn't very conclusive :mad2:
...gonna have to do 'em again

The ride was really fun though

First, we gotta get the battery pack, charged back up :cheers2:

I bought a 60V 2.5A SLA battery charger, last fall (~$20.00)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/60V-20AH-L...a=0&pg=2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
...but, it came with the 'dreaded" C-13 DC output plug :ack2:

So, I cut 'er off
...double checked the "polarity"
…& soldered on an XT-60 plug

Then, I soldered the receptacle onto the charge wires, on the kart. :2guns:

When she's charged back up, we'll get back to testin :2guns:

Tie rods sticking out like a red sore thumb? No end caps on frame tubing?
You know we're too lazy and/or unintelligent to play guessing games, Kevin. ;):roflol:

Testin';

I've been doin' some testin'

RPM test results
Low gear 330 (axle speed) x 5.4 (gear ratio) = ~1,780 RPM avg.
Med gear 620 (AS) x 5.4 (GR) = ~3,240 RPM avg.
High gear 950 (AS) x 5.4 (GR) = ~5,130 RPM avg.

Speed Tests
Top speed in low gear seemed to be ~11 MPH
Top speed in med gear looked to be ~24MPH
Top speed in high gear was 35MPH :2guns:

There is more info & videos on these RPM tests in this thread
http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=41655&page=2

Here is the speed test video :2guns:
...but, had some issues toward the end :ack2:

* Sorry, the GPS screen didn't seem to record too well

...even with a zip tie
…& I kinda blocked 1/2 of the "ride along" part with my shoulder
