Looks good So far Bob.

My buddy’s is a huge BB King fan. So his wife for his birthday wanted to do somethin special for him. So she went and had a big B tattooed on each but cheek for BB. When he got home on his birthday she greeted him at the door with a big kiss and then turned around and dropped her pants and bent over. She asked him what he thought about it. He said “it’s nice honey but who the heII is Bob?”

So what is proper hardware to put the rim to the
hub? Through hole in rim and threaded hole in hub.

Just a fancy looking bolt through the rim threaded into the hub? The screws in the photo are for the brake rotor.

Thought it would be a stud and nut type deal?

If I thread a bolt from the backside of the hub, can I use a nut on the other side of the rim too?

Its wrong to have two threaded things on same bolt like that? Wheel studs are pressed into hubs, not threaded?

Get a slightly longer bolt that protrudes on the other side. Then you put like a fancy Acorn nut or something to dress it up
So it’s ok to thread a bolt into the hub like a stud? Then add a nut on the other side of the rim?

For some reason I was thinking that a bolt and nut should only be used with two through holes.

Am I wrong thinking there is something wrong with putting a screw through the threads on one piece, through a through hole on the other, then a nut?

Actually I’m sure I’ve done the same before.
Pretty sure my buggy had wheel hubs where the studs holes were threaded and studs were just bolts threaded all the way.

For now, I have these.

If doing the other thing, I want flange hex socket cap head bolts and flange nuts. Which AutoZone did not have.

And I don’t think I can do the other thing….

I couldn’t get a threaded rod through there from that side.

Front brake on the left. Good. Lucky? I’m not sure I checked the rotation of the tire vs the side of the brake when I put it on and wanted the valve stem on opposite side.

Tiny rotor because only at this moment is weight a concern. lol.

Where to trim significant weight????
Brake rotor!!!

Get some longer bolts for that hub and then use the Lok-Tite.
We can pretend I did that.

The 16mm long bolts engage 8mm of 10mm into the threaded holes in the hub.

I looked it up and saw one place saying you need around 10mm for 10.9, and maybe 8mm engagement for weaker bolts.

I’m sure I didn’t torque down to spec for 10.9 grade.IMG_7285.pngIMG_7286.png
