personally i would get the hf versions of those, but its your call. i'm jealous but i'm not jealous about the drill press, your getting a press right now (would be nice), but i think its worth the extra month and a half for the ryobi i got my eyes on, good luck!

the ryobi, i thought was $110.. but it says $200. i think the buffalo tools one is sufficient and ill have it for a while.

as for the grinder, im going to just get the ryobi one. HF makes some good things but the ryobi is a better deal because it has a 2 year warranty andthe HF one is the same price to have a 2 year warranty.

yea well it looks pretty well built and if it breaks in 2 years i get a new one for free so worth the $90 for me.

i still need a more efficient way to cut metal too, its not that practical using an angle grinder to cut up stuff.

so like what do you use? metal chop saw??

chop saw if i'm doing a large project, other wise its the angle grinder for little bits. if you get an hf chop saw get one of the two nicest ones, i have the 2hp one and i have to slow down on thick metal so it doesn't bog out. there are a few other options though. reciprocating saw, die grinder, miter saw with abrasive blade, not sure how well those work, all prob ok, but i would say the best is a band saw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, but you must slow it way down. Check online for your saw's specs if you don't have them at hand.

i dont have one yet.

well, i got a drill press today, and got my dead grinder upgraded for free!

i asked for the $80 one online, all they had was the ryobi, and i didnt have enough for it. so, the worker said, since im a kid and i have intrest in those kinds of things he gave it for me for $80!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was like no way!!!!!!!!

and the HF people gave me the heavy duty grinder for free even though my old blue one was out of warranty!!

band saw really? i use mine sometimes but hardly ever. about the same as a sawzall anymore. the grinder with a cutoff wheel works 10x as good in most situations. most used tools by me are grinders. i have 3 milwaukees i got for 5$ each just had to adjust the brushes. i run one with a cut off wheel one with a grinder and one with a wire brush so i dont have to switch out :) And of course a good bench vise is a must. next up is a die grinder but if you dont have sorce for free wheels then its not a good idea because those little buggers are expensive. and you can use a sander wheel on a grinder to get the same result. the other most useful tools are a drill and a welder. i use a chop saw alot too but you can get away just fine with the cut off wheel on a grinder. oh and iv been using the same milwaukee grinder for like ten years and never burnt it up so yea you should pay the extra couple buks for a good tool

i have never even gone to my local hf (yea its that out of the way), yea i looked at the 10" press specs and it actually has a few major differences, should still be really nice to have though, its a press! did it come with a little clamp, i got my eyes on these,
kinda pricey though!, but they will be nice, if my c-clamps don't cut it i may buy one or two.

c clamps are working fine so far lol.

oh nd the power cord was rubbing on the belt (good thing i checked) so make sure you stuff it down more because now theres a bit of a hole.

i found it on amazon for more than the 12"! lol rip off, then i found it unused but the box was opened on eBay for 100, it may be discontinued, helping lower the price even more for you. idk, but you got a good deal, so it didn't come with a clamp? they have a pic of a clamp on the drill press page on the Ryobi website

EDIT: i'll prob see if i can get some new bits for it too, the presses i have seen are soooooo quit, makes my hand held sound like a space ship launch!
