well i took a welding class that ended in december with my dad. the face shield came with my welder. and once the class ended my dad just lets me keep his helmet for when my friends come over.

and 2 grinders too lol, one is a harbor freight, and i got a dewalt for christmas so i mainly use that one, its got like 2 times the power...

ahhh, what did you learn at welding class? just mig welding, or did you get to use tig, stick, and oxy-fuel too?

the dewalt really a lot more powerful? i don't think i have really ever bogged down my heavy duty harbor freight 4.5" grinder.

the dewalt is unstoppable. and its ALOT smoother than my harbor freight grinder. it has like 10 amps. where my HF has about 5 i believe.

we learned alot of stick, i got to mess with a tig machine (and yes i still suck) and we did brazing, oxy-ac. cutting, (i wont bother spelling that....) and the plasma cutter i tried a few times. it was great, the pasma cutter just tore through thin metal WICKED fast. we didnt really go through MIG as much as i hoped.

EDIT: i have heard that the grease in the HF grinder gearbox is crap, and when changed with higher quality grease, it lasts longer and makes less noise. have you tried this? i have a can of pennziol wheel bearing grease sitting around that im sure is better than the chinese crap.

no, i haven't, the gear box noise doesn't bother me much, i suppose it would help it last, would have to buy some grease though... LOL

i hope to learn tig soon, looks like fun, and a good challenge.

yeah i have the whole day to waste today so might as well!

i havent used my HF grinder in about 6 months.... time to blow out the cobwebs.

itd be nice to make my dewalt into mostly for cutting, and my HF for grinding, or the other way around, so i never have to switch disks every cut.

yeah, that red mower has a 8hp tecumseh on it. its $25. im getting that first because i need a 8hp tecumseh crankshaft. (btw it doesnt run anyways)

the one on the left is $50 and comes with 3 engines, the one on the right is $100 and runs great, but no deck.

the other ones dont have prices.

drove a 22' sport boat with a v6 200 horsepower yamaha today. its got nice power.

got it up to about 5,000 RPM but no more because the water was so rough and we were really flying.....

docking it was a real challenge. with boats you have to steer wayy early, and if you overshoot, you have to put it in reverse and floor it...

BTW did not catch anything...

rode a dirt bike for the first time today. a manual honda XR100. stalled it a couple times but i kinda get it now.

its my friends and the yellow quad is his dad's twin cyl. 400cc honda. it flies. burnouts and wheelies on demand.

only problem with the quad is that the lug nut stud is spinning inside of the wheel hub and we cant get the nut off to change the tire.

An XR100 mealy powered my kart. I believe it's about 9HP with a redline of 9500. IIRC, I haven looked up those numbers in a long time.
