Thank you for the compliment! This engine moves out pretty good nothing like my modified 277 Rotax but decent. This kart will be about 30 to 40 lbs lighter than my kart and a little bit different. I will use a 80 tooth rear sprocket on this kart giving it a gear ratio of 6.66 to 1. I am anxious to see your kart being built so please keep us all posted!

Ahhhhh.....just caught this! !!...

NO!!!!! It either needs to be a couple of thousands smaller....(to press on).....or a couple bigger....(to slide on).....

No such thing as EXACTLY. the same.....right?
I should have made that clear, sorry.

I am going to use this 80 tooth sprocket and I will modify it to fit the axle hub that I am going to reinforce and use in order to handle the output of the Rotary engine. I will trim some of the fat off of the thing too!

What top speed are you going for?,because usually If Someone was going for a higher top speed you would size down the teeth on the sproket on the axle and increase the number of teeth or the clutch, cvt,or ,torque converter

I am gearing this kart down for lower top speed and better acceleration. This gearing will give me mid 50's but my wife will never ring it out that far. It will also depend on which carburetor I will use as to what the upper RPM level will be. I have tested this engine a lot and I know what tuning to use to achieve the RPM level I want.

No go higher. if 6: to 1 is standard go 7:1 for top speed. 4:1 will have tire spin from stop but low top speed.
These are example numbers.

So 4 to 1 is good or bad? For decent amount of acceleration and high top speed?

Dude, I'm reading more of your off the wall questions, that are asked/answered ALL the time, than I am about his build. You've been here for a while.... You should know better. This is this dudes BUILD-OFF thread, not his "20 questions " thread..... Ask those questions in the appropriate section.... I'm not trying to be a "richard", but I read more of your questions and his answer to you, than I do about the kart he is building.
And SERIOUSLY? 4:1? I KNOW you have been in threads discussing ratios. I see your comments. Why are you asking that, here?
Let this man have his thread back. If you have a question about HIS kart, or what/why about something on HIS kart, then by all means, ask him. But this is NOT the place for general questions, especially ones that are :horse::horse::horse: on a weekly basis.
JUST for future reference, the bigger the first number, the faster the the acceleration, less top speed. The smaller the first number, the less acceleration you have but higher top speed. Write that down somewhere, so you don't have to ask again. A typical yard kart runs a 12"-13" tall tire and has a ratio of 6:1.....
Now, back to the build off entry.....
