Plus I failed to mention that the super trapp model that I will use is stainless steel construction which will not melt like regular steel because this engine will melt a plain steel muffler.

It is your machine you do what you want I am just making a suggestion at any rate you will have plenty of power with what you choose to do.
The bearings have set screws which will not hold the axle from moving under heavy side loads. What I do to eliminate this problem is I make aluminum bushings that slide over the axle and butt up against the inner bearing race of the pillow block bearings and the other side goes against the wheel so that when the axle nut is torqued down there is zero tolerance between the bearing and the wheel and the bushings need to be made the exact size in order to achieve this.I have never had my axle shift at all.
You would be fine using a pillow block bearing as a support for your secondary clutch depending on how much room that you have to mount it,there are also flange type bearings that could be used in that location.
