    New Build Help!

The point Fabroman was making is that it would be cheaper to buy a new frame. If you can't afford a new frame, you can't afford retrofit your existing frame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Trashed JS Sprocket

So, finally got the new 8t JS sprocket and chain installed and my son definitely noticed that it's a bit quicker. Haven't checked top speed with the speedometer app yet, but illy doesn't feel like we lost much top speed. Thanks again for the suggestions and help.

Replacing JS Sprocket & Stuck Driven

So I've learned a couple things - I hate shortening chain and the HF Chain Breaker isn't worth the effort. The pin on the breaker pushes out the chain pin and the gets stuck in the link and requires much inappropriate language to extract the pin. It was significantly easier to grind the top of...

Replacing JS Sprocket & Stuck Driven

Thanks, after letting the PB blaster work I was able to get the sheave off. I swapped one of the spacers for the washer on the other side of the JS and it worked like a charm. Need to shorten the new chain and put it back together. Will definitely need to watch a vid on preloading the...

Replacing JS Sprocket & Stuck Driven

So, finally received the new JS sprocket and had a little time to work on things. After wrestling the snap ring into submission I thought it was going to be smooth sailing. However, when attempting to remove the driven clutch, only half of it came off. Can get the other half to move. Is It...

Noob question on craigslist find and track building

Don't know anything about that Kart, but my son turned a perfectly good yard into a dirt track in a couple weeks without a tractor. Seems like to would be pretty easy to get that going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    anyone ever get citations

No citation but have a neighbor that is a State Trooper that gave me the lowdown in MI. With an ORV sticker, the appropriate helmet and license we can legally drive on some of county roads near where we live. 13 yr old still has to finish his online class - then he can drive as long as he...

    Trashed JS Sprocket

Got that part - but I was wondering how much flex there should be if the chain is properly adjusted. Found the answer in the maintenance instructions (who knew?) - 1/4" to 3/8". Based on how much flex there is now, the chain had become too loose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Trashed JS Sprocket

Thanks Chancer. I'm not sure if it's excessive wear in so much as I've only had the kart for a little more than a month and it may well be the original sprocket. The chain was a bit rusty and while I did lubrciate it I hadn't gotten around to changing it. It is a bit loose now, though I did...

    Trashed JS Sprocket

So, we chewed through the JS sprocket today on the Manco Silver Fox and I had a couple questions....but first the particulars. Robin EX17 6.5hp Comet 30 Series 9t JS sprocket (or at least it was) 60t axel sprocket 18" tires All of the above are stock. First question - is that a "normal"...

    Kart Identification

Thanks for the insight guys. I don't plan to get rich, but do hope to learn something in the process. Any ideas on the make/model of the karts in question? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Kart Identification

Ok, so I have a chance to get both of these frames for under $100 and I'm trying to figure out what they are and how big a project this would be. Counting my previous restorations, these would be numbers 1 and 2. From these limited pictures is there anything that would scare any of you...

    Bent Spindles

Thanks guys - lacking a welder I will check out the Azusa spindles. Of course this could be a good excuse to get a welder.😆 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bent Spindles

So, the kids have been running the Manco 606 Silver Fox pretty hard and without crashing into anything have still managed to bend both spindles. With the help of some galvanized pipe i was able to get the worst of the two reasonably straight so they could keep driving. Any reason I can't...

    Worth buying?

Looks like has a Robin-Subaru engine which if it runs is probably worth at least half of that. I recently bought a Manco Silver Fox (606-b) that wasn't running for more. Cleaned the carb and replaced a belt and it has been a great little machine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Go kart jerks/ jumps when accelerating

I was having the same problem and I took apart and cleaned the driver unit, along with getting the right size belt and it made a huge difference. I followed this vid.. https://youtu.be/C9yPHtfJO9w Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
