Got it running...and stopping!

First off, thanks to all those the supplied help over the last week. Got the Silver Fox running and stopping. Now the fine tuning questions...

When we accelerate hard from a stop the kart jerks pretty hard as the belt on the TC engages - is that normal?

It's definitely a Comet TC...maybe a 20 series. There's a pic so maybe someone can identify for sure.

The guy I bought it from said he never changed the belt, so I'm guessing it's at least 2-4 years old. There is some fraying on the inside as you can see from the picture. Time to replace?

Belt could be a problem, definately change it

New belt on order from Amazon - should have it on Tuesday. I'll give everything a good cleaning when I change the belt.

Be sure you ordered the correct size belt; it could be jerking due to the age of the belt &/or the belt is too big...

To detrmine belt size, follow th edirections on this chart:

Hopefully I ordered the right belt. I ordered based on the existing belt and the belt specified in the parts manual. I could still read the Manco belt number from the belt and it matched the manual. Don't think this kart had any mods, but will measure to make sure before I install it.
