    Axle Collars shifting inward

I got bolts and nuts on Monday, but I probably won't be able to actually work on it till Sat. Work, school, kids, gym, household chores......

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

Yeah, I had to get new sliders. The new ones weren't long enough to span the seat front to back. So I bolted some metal on the seat to bolt it to the sliders. It's probably binding up somehow.

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

Well yeah, lol, I'm talking moving it forward for the wife and kids. The wife is barely 5' 2" and had to wear her hiking boots to reach the pedals the way it is.

I saw the two piece split collars at the hardware store, they work better than the set screw solid collar ones?

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

Yeah, I need to install a kill switch, I was thinking about that. It just has the one on the engine. I also need to figure out why the seat isn't sliding....

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

Yeah, I guess it is still on shakedown setting... I need to fix that and the collars holding the rear wheels out as I discussed in another thread.

That's a good idea too. Maybe I will try the collars again and if I still have issues put the spacers in.

Yeah, my phobia is bad. Like I can't handle stuff like pencils/pens pointing at my eyes. I can't handle stores that have the little rods/pegs whatever that they hang items on, like Dollar Tree. There's not a snowballs chance in Hell I could wear contacts.

    Axle Collars shifting inward

    Axle Collars shifting inward

After I cleaned up the go kart from our mud bath yesterday I noticed the rear wheels were really close to the swing arm. I looked and the collars that the hold the wheels out had slid inboard. The axle kit I bought is a single thickness all the way. So it uses collars to keep the wheels from...

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

Yeah, wife helped me flush my eyes. I have an eye phobia so I can't put use eye drops or anything myself. It went pretty good, especially for it being the first day up and running. It's a full rebuild.

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

I did, other than getting dirt in my eye, it's still bugging me.

Well, I got our Go Kart running today.

Took a couple shake down runs around the block with the kids. A couple times to adjust the throttle, lost the key in the brake drum so we had no brakes. Fixed those things. Then I got it going pretty good. I think I still need to do some adjustments to steering. I decided to take each of the...

Wait.... what is doing the yelling? Hospital patients or coyotes? What kind of "hospital" do you live by?

Flashlights for headlights and marker lights

Yeah, my house backs up to a rock quarry and then there is state trust land on two sides of my neighborhood. Needless to say, we are often serenaded to sleep by coyotes.

I hear yeah there. But, I remember riding 4 wheelers as a kid with my family, we would go on night rides sometimes, way slower speeds, and it was tons of fun. Totally different feel.
