In no particular order, here are some of what I have owned over the last 20 or so years.

    Clark Cyclopes 440 revival

Had always thought that the 79cc was the smallest. Is a 49cc engine with a centrifugal clutch even going to move his kart? What is the horsepower rating on that. It can't be putting out much torque with that small of displacement.

Where can I find a part like this?

Yeah, a little more of an explanation would go a long way in trying to help.

    Clark Cyclopes 440 revival

Looking at your pictures, it looks like a common predator 212cc engine. Looking closer, I see a sticker that says 49cc. I didn't know they manufactured an engine that small. Is that just a bogus sticker ?

Gear ratio - looking for better take-off power

Looking at your picture, you probably will have enough room. Your little truck is really cool.

Gear ratio - looking for better take-off power

Post #3 and #5 are your answer. A brand new Amazon 30 series torque converter won't cost a whole lot more than the 80 tooth sprocket you are considering. The difference in dead stop acceleration will amaze you. GET ONE.

Anyone have a genuine Comet 40 series driver they want to sell?

I think you nailed it on the used speed equipment ( hop up parts ). I have built 10 or 11 of these things ( lost count ) over the last 6 years. 196's, 212's 224's a 301, and a 420. All of them full of speed parts. Rods, cams, fly wheels, flat top pistons, SS valves, springs ect. I have boxes of...

    Where's Pancho?

Don't own any of them anymore, just go karts. But I have had a few nice rides over the years. I will try to take some pictures of my pictures and then see if I can figure out how to post them. Thanks for asking. BTW, do you still have your Pontiac convertible? And how about the Buick that your...

    Where's Pancho?

Violent Death: 200 lb angry man throws tablet onto concrete floor as hard as he can, several times. Then jumps up and down on it until pieces of glass and plastic start to cover the floor.

    Where's Pancho?

Just came across this thread. THANK YOU ALL for your concern about my well being. Nothing health wise. My tablet was involved in a very violent death back in March. Rather than running out and buying a new one, I decided to wait for one of my Sons to buy me one for my happy 78th. Came a little...

Yey or Nay - LIFAN 9hp

Being that it is a 270cc engine, the carburetor and exhaust parts for the predator 301 and the Honda 270 will most likely fit. I doubt that anything from a small block (212cc) will interchange on your engine.

    Ken Bar Streaker

Almost hard to believe someone would sell a running electric start kart for $50. There has to be more to the story. Denny's statement of that's a killer deal is an understatement if I've ever heard one. Also, his evaluation of $500 to $750 is spot on in my opinion. Maybe even a little low.

    40 Series Pulley Alignment Question

Since the angle is the same on both sides of the pulleys, the alignment is not quite as critical as with a 30 series. If its working good, run it for a couple of hours and then check the belt for wear. In your picture, they look plenty close enough.

Yerf Dog Power Loss I am stumped (fixed)

When you put in the bolt that holds the driver clutch on the engine, put some blue thread locker on it. If you have a torque wrench and a strap wrench ( to keep it from spinning ), torque it to 25 lb. ft. Also, running that type of air filter ( and probably a bigger jet ) you will gain...

    Is This Possible?

The company that makes the best, ( and probably the most ) aftermarket fly wheels ARC, makes a different one for hemi and the non hemi. Think maybe they'res a reason.

Clutch or CVT issue. High rpm to start moving.

As I described in post #3, heavier weights will cause it to engage at a lower rpm. I suppose you could also say it would be smoother. People ( myself included ) modify the clutches to engage at a higher rpm to get stronger acceleration. Take the kart and open it up all the way. You might just be...
