I still want to see turns done at speed. I can't see how this does it without a differential. It just doesn't make mechanical sense. Unless you are sliding on those bald rear tires.

so you had a title as a 49cc moped, then did an engine swap? that makes more sense. I thought you had bicycles then slapped a HF engine in it (212cc's) and somehow got it in as a 49cc scooter. I'd need a donor bike then, huh?

another update: cleaning the points did nothing. I am ordering an ignition tune up kit off Amazon (under $10 shipped) as the final option

UPDATE: coil didn't work as whatever it was for mounted differently and was too far away from the flywheel to generate spark. I pulled the fly/points cover and see it is pretty crusty. I'm gonna sand/clean em up and try it one last time.

one to one is decent for light mods. You can go big on the engine and small on the trans and really rip if you upgrade the steering and/or lower it and have a reliable brake system. I had a 1:1 on my craftsman and it went around 18mph in top gear. But it also caused the steering to shimmy...

it doesn't have a flywheel nut. It has a starter clutch on it. I'm gonna try the magnetron coil I have in a little bit and if that works, great, if not, then I'll pull the flywheel and change points and condenser.

okay been doing a bit of cleanup on the motor. It has no spark. I sanded the rust off the outside edge of the flywheel and wire wheeled the two legs of the coil, still nothing. I've got some electronic ignition coils lying around so I think I'm gonna do that swap and see if that works, if...

will a 5hp engine really move this chassis? I'd be impressed.

welp, I pulled the engine off the tiller last night and checked for spark, none. Pulled the recoil cover and the flywheel is rusty of course. Not sure I wanna mess with this, though a running engine usually pulls around $75 here.

how is this thing gonna turn without a differential? You will have to slide it out on every turn. You need a diff in a bad way.
