    Eletronic clutch?

    Reading around it's said they draw 12v and 2-3amps. If you could build a little PWM circuit, I'm almost positive you could regulate the slip. Might not be GOOD for the clutch, but you COULD regulate it.

    Well, the DCEN explains the kickbacks from lack of power, much heavier spatter (except at very low amperage levels), and tall thin beads. After trying DCEN and DCEP, I have to maintain that DCEN is terrific on thicker wire when welding at lower amperages.

    Auto Darkening welding helmets

    You mean solar powered? I've had my $45 HF autodarkening helmet for around 4 years. No problems... haven't gotten flashed yet. I was just using it at 9:00PM an hour ago virtually in the dark... even then no problems? I believe they're solar AND battery powered.

    6.5 crank will not fit in a 5.5. Requires grinding and rewelding of crankcase to make room for counterweights.

    How long?

    Bought my first engine years ago... '59 Briggs 2HP 60102. It'd been repainted, but everything else was original.. (no diaphram!) Most reliable thing ever. Still had factory crosshatches on the bottom of the cylinder (alu. bore)

    Because it's an electric motor, and a big one at that :\ That extra friction when pushing around a kart when it inevitably will fail is a PITA... and I wanted to work around and create my own little regen controller later on, so I can lock back up the clutch during braking... ect :) And because...

    Sweet. Now I had a question (after burning out a Jeep e-clutch), does the electromagnetic coil use a resistor? I just plugged a newer Jeep's coil straight to a 12v battery and shorted it out almost immediately :'( And I assume there's three pieces, one freewheeling plate that locks to another...

    All verts have oil slingers, just not connecting rod slingers.
