For the-Cyborg: Skeletons In My Closet

So where are the crash photos of the newer ones? Kidding, aside, that's impressive that you've survived all those practically scratch free.

Should I just buy this kart?

That's a surefire way to castrate yourself.

    New Air Filter

This is total crap. I don't care if you put in 30lb springs, they will still float EVENTUALLY, but something else may go before they float.

Aren't generators quite often the same engine with a different PTO?

Check some of the cages in this thread. The yellow one really shows off the entire frame since nothing blends in with other parts! http://diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11526

    New Air Filter

This is not a cure-all solution. Each engine is itself. I would suggest getting a precise drill bit set and slowly opening up the stock jet until it runs properly. Then ID the bit used, and buy the proper jet. Why is this exactly? Flywheel explosion?

    hey

Have you considered looking online to buy parts or are you looking for free parts, to your exact specs, for the cost of shipping? Because the latter of the two probably isn't going to happen. That link given above will link you to many, reliable, trusted kart part suppliers.

    briggs vs clone

I believe this was me...except I was talking about the Subarus as someone recommended (an EX21), and I said there was more available for a Briggs than a clone, as I'm picking the Briggs over the clone here.

    briggs acting weird,

Ideally, it'll form an airtight seal and couldn't burst into flames due to lack of oxygen. Like Russ said, it may burn through, but shouldn't flash.

    My summer projects

That jack shaft is exceptionally long and has minimal, actually not enough, support.

    1982 yamaha

Does it... have spark? have compression? shift through all gears? have anything bent? have tires that hold air? have any cracks? Just a basic inspection should be sufficient as well as some negotiation to save a $ or two.

Again, I came across it, figured it could be useful, posted a link, and moved on. I didn't look into it at all.

    briggs vs clone

Why is this? Because we all know they aren't built with pride and integrity like an older Briggs was. They weren't built with care and precision. We know they're cheap. Practically disposable. Good engine, but a tiny market for after market parts. Unless you get them custom made, then you...

    My Yerf Dog 3020 Plans

The general cage shape should work, but with considerably smaller metal and more triangulation. Triangles are much stronger than straight lines.

    Online CNC Shop

I don't know. Check their site. I just found them with StumbleUpon. I really have no use for it ATM, but I figured someone may.

    briggs acting weird,

Well here's your sign. Of all the parts in an engine, this is probably one of the most important to torque to spec. Not over torque, not under torque, but torque to spec.

    briggs vs clone

Most likely, the Briggs can be upgraded more. It's parts are probably higher quality.
