    High school woes

Maybe ride a moped to the point where you can save enough money to buy a car. You know, buy a moped, get a job, save save save, sell moped, and buy a car. Use the moped as a segue to a car.

    Is my tc fake?

Usually Comet will be stamped into the driver outer cover.

    High school woes

Is it possible for you to ride a bike to a nearby whatever will hire you? I have a grocery store about a mile from me, as well as a hardware store, transmission place, and some other odds and ends. It'd be no fun riding a bike here in the SW PA hills, but it could be done til you get a car...

    TAV torque converter question

You will most likely need a 5/8" or 3/4" bore sprocket. You should be able to change it, but it may require different levels of dis-assembly depending upon your specific set up.

where can i get this part

For pillow blocks, I suggest Northern Tool. They usually sell on there between $10-15 a piece for 1" pillow blocks. You simply drill two holes and they bolt right up. I have them on my kart and am very satisfied.

    kartmankarts.com daily project

Blaz will tell you many stories of having karts run off while started with the wheels on the ground. I can only imagine you running after a driverless kart. :P

Finds in the SW PA area

This is the craziest ad for a modified golf cart ever. I marked it for "Best of CraigsList". http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/rvs/2595782749.html

    Welder to strong?

Test some scrap. That's the best way so you don't gamble your kart. Your specific case could be unique, who knows. But I, personally, wouldn't risk it.

    Death Trap 2000

If that set up is eating up chains, they're probably out of alignment. It is quite crude, but if it's hitting 49, something is working right!

kart only starts when the back wheels are off the ground

Sounds like an issue with the clutch for sure. Has it been oiled regularly? I wouldn't be surprised to see the springs stretched either.

the adventure of the mini bike,

My guess, from the second batch of photos, is poor quality casting. It looks like more of a seam in the molds than a crack.

    tire help

Check this thread here. --> http://diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1180 And you're probably looking for 4 bolts on a 2 13/16" circle. Remember to measure diagonally, not in a square. 4 bolts on a 4" circle are scarily close to 2 13/16" when measured in a square.

the adventure of the mini bike,

I wouldn't write it off so quickly. The photos suck (sorry!) so you can't be totally conclusive. Can you try getting some focused photos as well as from other angles?

    Laptop Brand Experiences

What really gets me about Macs is that the different lines of computers DON'T USE THE SAME PORTS. There are multiple forms of a Mac video out cable. I ran into this recently at a film festival thing through school. All of those "indie kids" from the rich areas had their sticker encrusted...

    Laptop Brand Experiences

I have a Dell myself. I got it refurbished, or else I think Dell's are overpriced. I think just about anything Toshiba is a good product, but you do pay for it. I got mine from www.nobetterdeal.com, they're a branch from a company in Pittsburgh that handles the returns for Walmart and, IIRC...

With a torque converter, you issue may just be the low oil sensor causing the engine to cut out.

Oh dear Jesus. I can't believe you did that speed on that little adventure. It's a cool cart, but I wouldn't place my trust in it in its current condition.

    Building a go-kart for under 100$.

I'm going to agree with TS here. The tools alone will blow the budget 10 fold, if you're like me and don't have them. You'd have to almost find a frame for free, with an axle, hubs and wheels. The cent. clutch will be half of your money.
