    Do band brakes suck?

you just gotta make sure it's on there good. if it slips off, it can get caught up in your chain and mess all kinds of stuff up. it's a pain in the rear when that happens. other than that, I like em just fine.

    Mobile recliner project.

I don't know much about electric motors either, but if I was gonna build something with one, that kit looks like a perfect way to get started. As far as the gaming controller goes, that would be awesome, but I'm not sure if it would work either... Sorry I'm not really any help, but there's my 2¢...

yeah, I've heard mixed feelings about doing that. some people says it doesn't work a bit, while others say it's great. how could you mess up the timing on one of these motors ? I know the cam gear and the gear on the crank have dots on them that you have to line up when messing with that...

yeah, I've got the stock one, but the way I've changed stuff on the engine around, it won't work anymore. there's a spring in the way now. I'd rather have one of the cone types anyhow. another thing though... if I do put a billet rod in that thing, what are the chances of me messing something up...

    Hey people

that's awesome.... he's gonna love it. I remember being that young and seeing the other kids with go karts and I always wished that my parents would get me one, but they never did. Finally a few years later I talked my mom into getting me a Nintendo 64 for Christmas because I knew a friend of...

well..... how do I upload photos ? I was just trying and it told me to enter a URL... can I upload direct to here somehow ? I got my tire sizes too... all four of them are 4.10/3.50-5 and I did a real quick count on my sprocket and it's approx. between 40 and 50 something. Thanks...

okay, I got it working now. I will take some pics of the kart and post tomorrow to see if anyone may have some suggestions to make it better. thanks for everyone's help. I haven't driven it yet and I have a feeling that the sprocket may be to small, but there's no room to make it any bigger...

what is the best way to hook up a kill switch ? I have a wire running from my coil up to under the steering wheel hooked on one end of a two prong switch. the other prong has a wire that I screwed to the frame of the kart, but for some reason, it won't crank with it hooked up. am I doing...

    Briggs Kart #2

wow, that's very impressive. how do you have access to all that stuff anyhow, is your dad a machinist or something ? I wish I would have been able to get hands on experience like that when I was your age... maybe then I would actually know a hell of a lot more than I do now about this stuff...

well chances are it's not an actual Raptor if they're suppose to burn methanol. I wouldn;t wanna go 80 mph anyhow... I think I'll just stick to what I have for the meantime and maybe get a spare in the near future to actually "build". I'll just need to learn a bit more about certain things, but...

    Briggs Kart #2

that's gonna be sweet as hell when you get done with it. if you all don't mind me asking, what is everyones ages ? I''m 28. Anyhow, I see apparently when you guys talk about building a kart, you mean from the ground up. I wish I had all the tools for that so I could jump on that bandwagon. Seems...

how do you crank one that has the shroud with all the holes in it rather than a pull string ? that's probably a stupid question, but from the pictures, I can't figure it out. you'll never know if you don't ask...

I'll take a look at it. He said that's just what he uses in any motor he gets. I'm not sure if he actually "has" to use it though. If it is a true Raptor or even if it seems like a good racing motor, would that be a good deal you think ? Does the Raptor motors have a different model number or...
