So 80 for the intake, 320 for the chamber and bling bling (white diamond rouge) for the exhaust is what I shall do!

Did I mention how awesome these Dremel Finishing Abrasive Buffs are?!!!

511E 1x180 grit, 1x280 grit.
512E 2x320 grit
These are 35k RPM, not like the 120 grit flap wheel (15k).
They fit so nicely in this head. Perfect with the micro die grinder.

Will also be using wire brush/wheel, tapered cartridge rolls (80/120 grit), 1/4" sanding drum/bands (80 grit/120 grit), wet/dry sand paper, and black/white rouge....

Less than $5 for a 2 count. $10 for the 4 buffs mentioned. I don't think it is terrible.
Sears has a Craftstsman brand too.

Evaluating after getting in there with wire wheels, 80 grit tapered rolls, and 120 grit tapered rolls.

And this.
Noticed same thing on intake. Not sure if I keep doing it or if it is in "My Head?"

Deep cuts? Grooves? Around the valve guide.

I was thinking maybe the mandrel on the die grinder?????????
Or just the way the Head is made?????????
Maybe I'm crazy and its just the lighting???

That is the reason for the shape of my intake. I tried to get that smooth and thinned out the valve guide. I like the way the intake came out.

---------- Post added at 07:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:44 PM ----------

Went back to 80 grit to remove the cuts, again, just the the intake.

As the bits of abrasive and aluminum go flying I am wondering how my new raised compression changes ideal size of runners (or is it ports?, or is the port the opening of the runner?)

Logically, it would seem to me, that increasing compression would allow for larger Ports/runners without loosing too much bottom end.

I was scared that I might remove too much material, but think this awesome thing called compression should take care of that!?

I asked my girlfriend to test the flow...
She wasn't sure the joke, but she knew the punch line.

Now we sit, both un-flow tested.:innocent:
:devil2:

Grooves were cool in the 70's. I decided to go with the Heavenly Glow Exhaust P&P!

Like I said BEFORE...
Those Dremel Finishing Buffs fit inside the head so NICELY, ONCE THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN USED TO POLISH THE CHAMBER.

Ideally I would like tapered rolls 60, 80 , 120, 180, 240, 320 to fit an 1/8" mandrel???????
(for the intake and exhaust).
1/4" mandrel/tapered rolls is best I have (or could find). I wish I had finer grit (only 120), but this will be fine.

Those dremel buffs are perfect for the chamber right out of the box, so I'm glad I did that part first!

One problem with the shape of these ports is that they are not Round. They are "D" shaped. Relatively larger attachments don't fit the corners so good.
The end of a tapered sanding cartridge is perfect, but I'm topped out at 120.

HHHmmmmm???????????????
Looks like I will be mixing in hand sanding to get the corners after each of the 180, 280, and 320 stages.

One more pass with the 180 grit Dremel Finishing Buff and I'll show where I am at.

And I also forgot to mention....

I think this is on sale for fathers day. I don't have kids, but feeling it may be worth it at this point (kids that is, just for the compressor)!

EDIT: I've come to my senses. The greatest air compressor in the world is still much cheaper than the lousiest kid!!!!! LOL

So are there grinding/polishing compounds in between 120 grit sand paper and black emery rouge for aluminum?

Maybe I'll go to Grainger on Monday. I think they have fine grit tapered cartridges.
I was trying to find a grit vs compound relationship chart.

Getting there. I actually cut with the 180, 280, and 320 to see what it looked like before it got too late for the compressor.

You can see the difference from the sanding rolls near the valve guide.
