If it's possible, it will be fixed. I have an appointment with the other best hand surgeon in town next week. Talked with the first best surgeon this week he gave me 75% chance of fixing it, but will be a **** of a surgery.

Either way it would have required surgery, the injury destroyed the joint. Just stupid of me to wait and not have it looked at immediately. (My wife is saying "I told you so" somewhere around here I'm sure........!!!!)

Texas Orthopedics did a pretty good job on my hand. Now if I could just remember the surgeons name, she was great.

well I only had my LH pinky bruised once, and I was unable to type properly for about two weeks, I didn't even KNEW I used it at all for typing (or anything), apparently I hit the shift key with it (now I know :D) And it got in the way all day, so I can draw a very rough sketch of what you're going through right now.

Anyways...There are artificial finger joints
(mainly for rheumatism AFAIK) but before you have it fused, you should at least consider it a last resort ... just in case yours is fubar :(

again: the best of luck

Got myself a new lawn mower
Well new to me

$150 gmc with a 5hp b&s
Runs good
Has a strange setup like a dead mans switch so u cant let go of the handle
Gotta get rid of that

Iv given up on the victa and its unionist ways
It ll work find as long as its between 7 to 4 on a weekday
Who knows what the issue is
I decide to give it anougther crack and itll start first pull
Sweet
Go to mow the lawn
Wont start
Wont even fire

After repeating this for a year im over it

Also iv gotta get my left pinky checked out at some point
Was hitting out bearings with a 4 pound hammer
The last hit should have been half speed
Bearing flew out punch went straight though
Hammer carried though and found brakes in the form of my pinky and a hydrolic cylender

At least it works fine no pain
Till I touch something wrong
Got a small lump

Good luck to u robert

When it comes to hand and feet injuries, all I can say is that they are probably the most painful, while usually the smallest. When I lost 1/2 of the first bone of my left middle finger due to an argument with a set of steel shear's, it was the most painful thing I had yet experienced.

I have been through worse though: when I totalled my truck, I got a whole new education in what pain is. One of the few bright spots of recovering from that is that I found this forum........

Simple fix (I'm pretty sure you'll figure it out but, I'll speed up the process for you): Follow the cable to the rear of the engine where you will find a lever with a spring & the cable attached, remove both & you now have a manual, hand operated kill mech :)

It's amazing how little you think you use a digit... until it gets damaged & you can't :lolgoku:

Best of luck with the repair job Robert

So, I haven't been around for about a week so, lots of catching up to do...

Long story short (for those who missed it), I cooked my cars engine, bought a new car (2000 Toyota Avalon) with its own problems, spent most of the week depressed & double guessing myself before sorting said problems rather quickly & inexpensively (but, there's more to come...)

Which leads me to yesterday (Saturday), my birthday; on Friday, I called my usual tyre dealer to check that they had tyres for my car, arrived there yesterday, only to spend the next two & a half hours having 4 tyres fitted... after they spent the best part of an hour looking for decent ones (they specialise in used tyres), the first set had about 15% tread left; my reaction was "OH HE!! NO! They're not much better than what's on the car!"

An hour & an argument later (after I almost walked because I'm now pi$$ed that I was fed a load of dung the day before) the manager finally got off the phone & his behind to help, but only after he abused me for the way I dragged his jack out from under my car ("oh NOW you want to talk to me...")

Tyres found & fitted to car, price negotiated & paid, about to drive off & there's a flat on the front :censored: Wheel back off the car &, yep, there's a hole... IN THE SIDEWALL! :censored::censored: Good thing we had a substitute for such an incident but, it still cost me 30 minutes...

All in all, a great end to a great week... now I'm gonna go punch someone...

EDIT: Oh, almost forgot, I opened a new carton of cigarettes yesterday (yes, I'm a smoker, deal with it); everytime I had a cigarette, I'd get to the end & think "where's the rest of it?" It wasn't until last night that I found the answer...

Now, just to clarify, we now have plain packaging on cigarettes here so, it's difficult to tell one brand from another, let alone different variants of the same brand (yeah, you can see where this is going, right...)

Something made me look at the pack &, for the first time since opening the carton, I realised the variant was silver... wait, what? I smoke reds! :censored: NO WONDER i CAN'T TASTE THE DANG THINGS! :censored:

Best of luck and a quick recovery, Robert.

Happy birthday Tony!

Well, my life has been so good lately I refrain from telling a lot of people about it. Some of them get angry, mean, and snarky. So I won't elaborate. (Don't hate me because I'm happy!):wai:

Pics of the jet boat? My friend had a sea doo sportser 215hp it was crazy!!!!

Mine is not a fiberglass boat in anyway..

It is a Alweld 1856 JC, custom built for me in 2009. It's a river boat. All aluminum construction, no wood or glass..

I can go through 3" of water @ 37 mph..

In my experience, as soon as you start "bragging" about how good your life is, it all turns to sh!t :lolgoku:

They don't hate you because you're happy, they're just jealous :lolgoku:

That's awesome!!!!!

I myself have a 2011 Walker Bay Genesis Deluxe 270(8'10"). With a 1988 Evinrude 9.9. Basically it's an RIB. Fancy name for a dinghy with a hard floor and a v bottom.. It's like a top of the line dinghy... I payed chump change for it. The guy had NO idea what it was. Craigslist...
Anyway, went out today in the 61 degree weather. It was quite cold. I was very very over dressed. There was a pretty good wind chill. Running out of summer and feeling like i have to go if i have the chance. The good part is that i get a free spot to tie it up. My uncle has a 22 ft sailboat that I learned everything I know on. He keeps it at a slip where you get a free dinghy spot it you have a slip. Well he wasn't using it so I stole it.
My friends jetboat though... That thing was a beast. Did 70mph and it got there in a hurry. The way it put down the power and accelerated was nasty. The handling too.
I put a pic of my dinghy below but i'll put a pic of the whole dinghy and friends jetboat in an album on my profile.
Oh by the way, I'm only 14 and so is my friend.
These are all saltwater boats. I bought my dinghy and motor at the beginning of the season separately. The dinghy was held up on a crane davit system off the guys '38 foot boat. The motor was freshwater until now.
I bought my dinghy and motor with money from letting my neighbors dog out for 4 years and putting the money aside.

Dang!! that engine is nearly as big as the boat

hahah... indeed.. if it was a car with a motor sticking that far up I know I'd get pulled over for "impaired vision". Good thing I rarely look back on the river's I run..

The last six days have been hideously expensive, but my poor Escort's replacement is now on the road. The repairs that the truck needed were reasonable based on the fact that my Dad parked it over four years ago.

What really took my breath away was what cab fare costs when you live over twenty miles from town; try four days with round trip costs in the $100.00 range........:ack2: :ack2: :ack2: :surrender: :surrender: :surrender:

I was.sitting at the bar in a bbq joint (you have to order to go at the bar)..and like most bars,...there is a mirror across the back...and I think I see an Indian behind me. So I turn around and sure enough...a totally restored Indian hanging from the rafters.

Then I look to my left...and on top of a tin roof is a cool little old minibike...I should have snapped some pics...but I will next time,...
