Me to my Wife: "Honey I have another old TV I found on the curb in the back of my truck"
Wife: "Get the &^% out of here with that *&^% and don't do that anymore!"

Your wife is a Saint.
Just practice being innocent, works all the time, so I've heard... I'm sure Denny would help you out with practice, he can play an unhappy wife quite well... so I've heard... 😄😂🤣😆

I had ta go to the hardware store ta get some...hardwares
...some 5/16" x 1" Carrage bolts & some 5/16" x 18 Loc-nuts (for mounting the (2) motors)
...& a couple of outdoor gate hinges (Mini-Jeep Hood Hinges) ;)
SAM_7989.JPG
Here is an example of some actual Jeep Hood Hinges :cheers2:
SAM_8004.JPG
So, I trimmed the hinges up a bit
SAM_7990.JPG
...& did some smoothin' & roundin' (the left one is pretty much done & the right is still "in the rough")
SAM_7992.JPG
...& then, mounted 'em on the Cowl

Hey ain't the dash supposed to go under that top part, cover, thingy?

Well, Ima glad you asked

Yup, we already have limited "knee" space available, up under there
...but, these style Jeeps have a good size space above the Cowl (outside view)
SAM_8009.JPG
...& up under the windshield (inside view)
SAM_8010.JPG
So, Ima thinkin' that I can incorporate "my" dash into that "area"

* I don't really want a windshield
...but, maybe I can just fabricate a "bottom section" (backside of the dash)
...& then, maybe make & use the windshield hinges to cover up the open sides of the dash

I picked up a 10' roll of #35 chain from TSC (~$22.00) (remember we have to "chain up" (2) motors)
...& a couple of Master Links (AKA Connecting Links) (~$5.00) ;)
SAM_8011.JPG
Wrapped "it" around the drive & driven sprockets
...took out most of the slack
...& then, had it "end" on the "big" sprocket, for easy marking (marked with a silver marker) :cheers2:
SAM_8012.JPG
So easy to see/find "the spot" even after taking it off the sprocket(s)

Um...almost forgot, I used a straight edge to align the sprockets
SAM_8044.JPG
Put the "trimmed" piece of chain on the sprocket(s)
SAM_8047.JPG
Here are the (3) parts of the Master Link
SAM_8048 (1).JPG
Installed the Connecting Link
SAM_8051.JPG
...then, installed the outer part of the link
SAM_8052 (1).JPG
...& then, I installed the "Snap Link" using a pair of Needle Nose Plyers
SAM_8057 (1).JPG
Looks like this when properly "snapped" in place

* Note, the "opening" of the "Snap Link" should be oriented toward the rear :cheers2:
SAM_8058 (1).JPG
Right motor is all "chained up" :wai:

Um...almost forgot about the axle "keys"

This dual motor set up will need (4) "keys" in the axle
...(1) for the brake drum
...(1) for the drive wheel
...& (2) for the driven sprockets
SAM_8017.JPG
They are new but, sometimes you gotta "clean" 'em up a bit
...just sliding them around on a piece of sandpaper usually works pretty good
* I always try to "knock off" the corners
...so, there are no sharp corners to get caught on stuff (like axle, key slot imperfections) ;)
SAM_8021.JPG
Speaking of key slot imperfections, I've noticed (& had to deal with) many key slot imperfections on axles & in the components too
...where the "key" just won't quite fit (or fully seat) in the slot
SAM_8033.JPG
Close up pic
SAM_8031.JPG
A metal file with a nice square profile usually does a good job of "cleaning this situation up"
SAM_8034.JPG
Close up pic
SAM_8035.JPG
After a little bit of "cleaning" it should "seat" down in the grove (on the component) nice-n-flat
SAM_8037.JPG
...& in the slot in the axle too
SAM_8040.JPG
...& then, slide together & look like this :2guns:

* See how that "key" works to mechanically "lock" the axle with the component
...so, they rotate together :sifone:

Or you could just use a hammer and really get it to lock in!
That’s what I do. :roflol:
While Ima wasa doin' stuff, Ima wasa justa showin' folks how I dided it
...'cause somea folks justa don'ta knowa howa ta do'a these stuffs :cheers2:

Aren't we supposed to show folks how to properly do stuff?
...& a hammer is the very last tool, some folks should "pick up" when trying to fix or repair their karts ;)

Before assembling the rear axle, I cleaned up & painted the rear wheel spacers:thumbsup:

The left side is just (1) piece
...& the right side is (2) pieces (put a couple of scrap pieces, to good use) ;)

SAM_8063 (1).JPG
...so, they would be (dry) ready, when I got to that step of the project :cheers2:
SAM_8064 (1).JPG
Boom! done
...but, wait...:censored:...Um...looks like I forgot to tighten a few bolts
SAM_8067 (1).JPG
OK that's better :sifone:
SAM_8068 (1).JPG
* Notice: How the Wheel Spacers keep the wheel "in place" on the axle
...so, they can't move around or slide (or back & forth) on the axle
...& also, Lock-Nuts for all :)

Ima gonna place an order tomorrow
...so, I double checked my measurements
SAM_8022.JPG
...& did some figurin' :p

It looks like I can get the (2) side panels
...plus, another side panel (if I mess (1) of them up)
...& another extra piece or "drop" (technical term) out of a 48" x 96" sheet
SAM_8133.JPG
Ima gonna see if I can get the "steel place" to do some of the "heavy lifting" or long bends for me :cheers2:
...so, I drew up what I had in mind ta show 'em

Take (2) of the 16" x 72" piece(s)
...& bend them so that they are 13" wide x 72"
...with a 1 1/2" "lip" on each, of the long sides

When I went to put the rear wheel retaining nut on, I didn't like the way the nut went "right up" against the rubber seal, on the bearing
SAM_8076 (1).JPG
I didn't have any 1" washers
...so, looking around, I noticed that 1" hardware store washers are big 'ol, huge & bulky things (~1/8" thick)

I had some of the scraps from cutting out the headlight holes in the grille that looked like it should work :cheers2:
SAM_8082.JPG
...so, I drilled 'em out with a couple of "Step" Drill bits
SAM_8093.JPG
...& they seemed to turn out pretty good :)
SAM_8104.JPG
...but, I drilled 'em out too big :mad2:
SAM_8106.JPG
Well, let me try this again (I used a 1" hole saw this time) ;)
SAM_8107.JPG
Went ahead & cut a stack of 'em (while I was at it)
SAM_8109.JPG
They turned out like this :p
SAM_8111.JPG
Cleaned 'em up a bit
...& tried 'er on the axle
SAM_8117.JPG
All "buttoned up" (Yup, that look's better):2guns:

Bouncin' around again
...but, that is what you do in a Jeep

The battery box will be mounted under the vehicle
...& hopefully doesn't have to be "messed with" for a long time
...but, we will still have "remote access" thru the BMS connector for monitoring & troubleshooting

The SC box will be mostly up under the body too
* The running board/fender will cover that exposed front portion, of the box
SAM_8143.JPG
I set it up so the box is easily accessible
...so, "if" there is ever an issue, you just have to unbolt the boxes, retaining bolts
...& lower the whole box, right down, to the ground (floor level)

Then, pretty much everything (SC's, fuse box, connectors etc.) will be right there
...& easy to "get to" & "work on" ;)
SAM_8136.JPG
Then, when done, just raise the box back up into position & secure (bolt) it in place :2guns:

I also "ran" the wiring harness up thru the floorboard via a rubber gromet :)
SAM_8137.JPG
* Notice, I installed it in a "slot"
...so, it's removable (if/when necessary) like for painting the body &/or replacing body panels
...without having to "mess with" the wiring or disconnecting stuff ;)

Well...this "lonesome little guy" is the straw that broke the camels back
SAM_8152.JPG
I found it just sitting on the side of the road (homeless)
...so, I gave 'em a little "pep talk" & loaded 'em on the truck
but,
Then my wife came home :mad2::mad2::mad2:
...& all Hell broke loose (Armageddon) :devil2::devil2::devil2:
SAM_8151.JPG
So, yesterday Ima was in "clean up mode" (unless I wanna die) :ack2:
...& (secretly) inspecting my new acquistion

* That little Honda engine started right up & ran good
...so, I connected the garden hose
...& quickly (with water shooting everywhere) found out why it was homeless
...the Pressure Washer Pump housing is cracked :(
SAM_8155.JPG
Well, it's still a good little Honda engine (with built in On/Off switch & a Fuel Cut-Off valve)
SAM_8159.JPG
...& I can (potentially) see a Mini-Jeep Push Bumper/Brush Guard being made outta the handle of that cart :sifone:
SAM_8153.JPG
So, a Yup, back ta Clean up Mode :cheers2:
