So many new start ups around here, except, I have a feeling yours has been around awhile
Yup, I've been creating functional art...all of my life

Played with "gasser" stuff all thru the '80's & '90's
...then, moved on...:devil2::innocent:
Naughtagator is the “new kid” on the “block”.
Yup, I've been watchin' them
...& they be doin' some some kool stuff over there :2guns:

Now you got zero tailpipe emissions.
Have you got one of them fancy eclectic cars? I mean, electric cars? :roflol:

Back to your standard program, too good of a thread for hijacking… :cheers2:

Yup! Zero emission Mini-Jeep

I haven't had a personal car since the early '90's (sold it to make a truck payment)
...but, my "personal" truck (toy hauler) has an Intercooled Turbo Diesel ;)
SAM_5091.JPG
...& I have my ElMoto (DIY electric motorcycle) :2guns:
SAM_5999.JPG
* Seriously contemplating building myself a full size, street legal, electric Morgan (just what I need, another "toy"):furious2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

Thanks!
The range for my ElMoto is ~25 miles with (1) 48V 50AH battery module (~10 miles each way just to be safe)
...or ~50 miles of range with (2) of them :2guns:

Yup, I've been certified as a Master Tow Operator, since 1996, by the Towing & Recovery Association of America :sifone:

As for a Morgan:
Ima thinkin' maybe a ~20HP electric motor mounted on the "nose" (lots of fresh air for cooling) in the "classic" Morgan style
...with a "drive shaft" running back to a (maybe an old Honda Goldwing) shaft drive motorcycle in the rear (that can be used to make 'er legally registerable)
...with a couple pairs of 90V 50AH Lithium battery modules (probably ~200lbs.) mounted right over the front wheels (to enhance the steering traction)
...& the driver cradled in between

Um...:smiley_omg: I think I just Hi-Jacked my own thread :mad2: :mad2::mad2:
...but, (back on topic) I'd say we now officially have a "roller" :innocent::devil2:

So you are really making a scaled down CJ-5?

That's a design that has comparatively more compound curves, or just more rounded corners than a flat fender. A challenge for sure. :wai:

Hey Hellion,

No, not really the back-story or narrative for this build is "I was thinkin', to keep my range of options as "wide open" as possible, this "is" one of those surplus Army Jeep's (like a "flat fendered" M38) that someone bought, back in the late 60's/early 70's (for use as a personal vehicle)
...& then, customized it"

Here is a pic, of a full size CAD model of what Ima workin' on buildin'

I figured the Cowl should be next
...since we kinda need ta establish the dash, for a place ta mount the instruments & switches

So, back to the CAD templates (Cowl template, along with the rear edge of the hood template)
...& transferred the pattern(s) onto some of the 18g. steel

* I only wanted ~2" on each side (not the full width of the rear edge of the hood)
SAM_7950 (1).JPG
Like this
SAM_7953 (1).JPG
...then, cut 'er out
SAM_7954.JPG
* Notice, I left ~1/2" on each end, for bendin' (body seam) ;)
SAM_7955.JPG
Kinda like this
SAM_7958.JPG
Next, I marked the bending location(s), degree of bend & orientation
...& also, the location & orientation of the required curve(s)

I put 'er in the sheet metal bender & did some bendin'

I installed the (2) end bends first (so then the piece would fit in the bender to be able to do the front & rear edge bends)
...& put (2) ~1" bends on the rear edge (dash side) to eliminate any sharp edges for bumpin' your knees on ;)
SAM_7961.JPG
...then, bent the front edge (firewall side)
SAM_7963.JPG
Came out lookin' like this :)
...next up was bending the curves
SAM_7964.JPG
* Don't tell my wife
...but, I figured a can of soup would work great, for rolling these curves (a pint of paint helped in the "tight areas" too)

Where the heck did you get that from?

Well, I'm glad you asked ;)

It's some rigid ~1/8" thick black plastic from the back of an old big screen TV

This section had a kinda kool look & shape
SAM_7983.JPG
So, I trimmed 'er up a bit
...& installed the switches & instruments
...& then, mounted 'er on the Cowl
SAM_7985.JPG
We can't mount 'er under the cowl (like in a FS Jeep)
...so, Ima thinkin' I can do (or at least try'in to do) is incorporate it into the bottom of (what would be) the Windshield frame
SAM_7987.JPG
...& maybe make some Windshield "side hinges" (like on a FS Jeep) to cover up the open sides

Some of the bestest stuff comes from garbage. Keep it up! Also, the whole dash looks perfect to me , though EZ will have a fit! :roflol:

Isn't that the second time the old TV has gifted to a build?
Actually I've been usin' the backside of old TV's, on my projects for years
I even kinda collect them now (for different shapes & textures)

Off the top of my head, these builds have parts made from old TV's

Aerial Atom (dash)
!ARRIBA! (rear bonnet)
Excalibur (dash)
ElMoto (Trimeter) & (Digital Battery Balance Monitor)
Hell-raiser (dash)
Zero (fenders)
Torsk (dash)

Me to my Wife: "Honey I have another old TV I found on the curb in the back of my truck"
Wife: "Get the &^% out of here with that *&^% and don't do that anymore!"

Your wife is a Saint.
Me: Hi honey I'm home (don't mention stuff on the back of the truck) ;)
Wife: What did you bring home this time?

Me: Um...nuthin'...well...um...(quickly unloading truck) Nope! nuthin' honey :devil2::innocent:

Me: (changing the subject) Um...what's for dinner?

But yes, she puts up with (um...) a lot :wai:
...she's a (my) good woman :) :bannana:
