chevy/gmc 73-87 bodystyle c/k truck or blazer, the 88-91 blazers, suburbans, and crew cab trucks look like the previous bodystyle (73-87) older, are cheap, have TBI, simple and super easy to work on, find you a 88-98 blazer with a TBI 350. but im chevy biased, it's in my blood haha

next year im going to be at a trade school taking welding so maybe rust problems wont be such an issue!

Are you going to an actual independent trade school or is it a program through your school? My high school doesn't have many shop classes so they have an ROP program for an elective off campus. Do you have something like that?

Keep in mind your mpg will go down, if Im not too mistaken anyways.
Would be cool if you could squeeze some larger tires on it without a lift or anything. Some body modification yea...

Jeep has no lift other than from the 40in tires. Still the same height as the same year jeep.
Pretty wicked looking Jeep if you ask me...

im fine with doing lots of work to get it running.

kid down the street got a ranger for 1500 and it runs perfect

i dont like the look of the new body style though. and id like to get it old enough so i can avoid all the computer crap they stuff in now

The years you're looking at still have too much computer crap:D

I hope you're planning on haggling a bit. Offer him $900 and he might come back with $1000. Then you got $200 extra for when something needs replacing.

And remember: Just when it seems to be running perfect, something's gonna break. Keep a nice padding of cash in your bank account for parts.

funny story, my mom was going to the grocery store and saw the truck from craigslist! so i came down and talked with him.

he said he will take $1000.

im going to need new rear shocks, replace the leaf springs with the ones he has, probably replace the floor pans.

all fluids need to be changed.

I gutted mine and ran a pipe straight through.

staight pipes are illegal in California, and without a converter, you wont pass the stupid emissions tests. Diesals run stacks no problem here, but you cant do it with an unleaded truck.

Yup, unless it's pre-'77, in which case it's exempt from emissions testing. But that's just another reason I'd never live in CA. Matt lives in CT, so I'm pretty sure he doesn't have to worry about that.

I don't know which are worse, CA smog laws, or CA firearms laws.

"This product is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects."

"This engine not for sale or use in California."

"Cannot ship ammo to California residents."

I'd go crazy.

especially where I live, there are a bunch of stuck up rich people that are totally paranoid of everything. Up north and in the desert, you can pretty much do what ever you want.

but, oh well i cant do anything about it right now...just gotta live with it and follow the rules so I dont get thrown in jail and have to pay astronomical amounts of money to the bankrupt government out here

my list of things to do:

-figure out how to get this truck registered
-fix everything

i dont know anything about emissions or inspections in CT. ill have to do some research.

it has a BRAND NEW muffler and 02 sensor. he has $800 into it and hasnt drove it

EDIT: yes it is gasoline. its a straight 6

EDIT: oh yeah a strange thing about it has 3 keys. one for the glove box, one for the ignition, and another for the doors.
