So. How many grommets do I use for this thing? I figure they ought to be atleast 1/8 from the edge to keep em from pulling through.

Something else, being that leather will stretch, do I use some chunks of 3/4in dowel rod instead of a 12ga hull to form the loops?

I'm on another forum, and they have a tournament going. It's kinda like the build off here...

Sooo...yesterday, I fish the bridge by my house with very little success.

So I pretty much determined the fish (crappie) were spawning and shallow. Now...I know WHERE to go get 'em... But ... I can't get there with just a tube, and my boat isn't registered right now!

Now, I know where to find the spawners on my home lake, but I have to tube a couple of miles to get there.( That's the thing about tubes....you can outfish boat fishermen,.but you can't move around much..) BUT TUBE FISHING IS DEADLY!

I wasn't sure the crappie would be shallow on a different lake, but I picked the perfect spot....drove 20 miles... THERE'S A FRIGGING LOCKED GATE!!!

Oh....it gets better!!! Be right back....

Sooo...I drive a little further, but, even though I know it's tougher to pull fish off this spot....I figured what the hey....I'm here.

I pay $5 to use the boat ramp.... I get there, and see a guy in a ATUBE. It still gets worse...he's been there 6 hours fishing with minnows, the wind is coming up.,.

Tubing is deadly to the fish!!! A much more effective way to fish than with a boat, except your range is limited. Where with a boat, you drift and move, with the right set- up in a tube, you can position yourself like walking on dry land.

And NO...I'm not even registered at OMB.

(I can't even post at that tube site right now, and IDKY!) I have an idea, and it's TOTALLY STUPID!

BTW: That pic is fine, it's only the crazy big ones that get on my nerves.
