Inquiring minds want to know, have you found that supid snake yet or at least any funny smells in the house? :lolgoku:

Denny
:feedtroll:

99% sure it got out...it didn't seem to be a "hider" like Oscar....never buried up in it's cage...and I found it crawling around in the open on previous escapes....

It wouldn't even think about dying for at least 2 months...I'm going to feed Oscar tonight after at least a month and a half....

BTW: The end result was pretty good for the first trial on the chicken...

The smoke flavor was very clean...but a little too weak for me....I'm thinking I'm going to close it up as I add wood for a little while to expose the meat to a more intense smoke as it comes to temperature...

Also....soak some wood in water....

And...I still had some small blood spots next to the bones despite hitting 165°....so next time I'm going to 170°....

But the meat had good flavor...(just a bit weak)...and was as tender as it can get....

Hey poboy, figured you'd like this one, being both cheap, and nice.

My family and I have torn 5 old decks down this summer in the hopes of reclaiming the wood for a big deck. This is the unfinished result (will be finished this week)

30x15 foot deck, total cost with screws and gas $202.16.

Still have to get stain and sealer, thinking $50, and I'll take better pics both in the light, and after its finished.

What it would have cost for materials if bought up here new: over $1500.

This litttle guy came over to hang out today! We picked him up the kids held him and played with him for a little while then we let him go.
(Edit) Oh sorry crappy pic. anyway it was a 3" long baby blue belly lizard. There are a bunch of them around here, the Dog loves to chase them, :surrender:but rarely catches one.

Just a bit of rambling here.....

Best song ever?

I just Googled up 'X's and O's to get a look at that gal...(just curious what she looked like)....anyway....somehow it went from that to Tommy Emanuel in Japan....to 'Low Spark of High Heeled Boys' by Traffic.

Hearing it again after many years was almost like hearing it with new ears. It's always been one of my favorite songs since the first time I heard it.

It occurred to me that there are probably a ton of people that never have. Some things that makes it my candidate for best song ever is:

It's basically a jazz genre....but comes off as a rock tune. The composition is amazing, and the quality and mix was something not easy to achieve back in the 70's....

And Steve Winwood's keyboard work was phenomenal.....

Well..after watching this snake lick a couple of chicken eggs for a couple of hours...I decided to take it out and play with it for a while.....

It was pretty wild at first....but it settled down...and we had a good ol' time.....

Now.....I kinda understand these wild critters...he spends all day eyeballing me...probably because he really doesn't know if I'm friend or foe yet....but....the egg licking.....

I understand that....he really wanted to eat them ....but....a snake only has 3 defences....Flee....Bite....Musk....and it's best defense is bite.

So....they are reluctant to get something huge in their mouths when they might encounter danger...as...they are pretty helpless....

Sure enough....when this snake saw me fall asleep...it ate those eggs!!!

Gary Larson, who drew the Far Side comic strip for year's also put out a couple of book's that contained some of his work that was hilarious, but both he and his publishers agreed couldn't be used in syndication.

On the lower r.h. corner of the r.h.page of one that showed a python that had crawled thru the bar's of a babies crib, and now couldn't get out because of its meal..... The caption read "You didn't see this... Turn the page."

News flash from White Settlement, Texas............

Well....just had Felix out.....was trying to kiss him....he wasn't amused....

If you think about it.... you can't blame him....there's a very small difference between a kiss ...and biting his head off....

But....despite a little trepidation and tail rattling....he eventually let me give him a smack on the lips....he's coming around....he'll be a great lap snake in no time.....

Just an update on the local lizards. I was telling my wife yesterday how it is strange that we dont see these guys get very big anymore, used to see 10" lizaeds all the time. now they are 4-5" or less. Now Today for the first time in a few years A big one 10-12" slithered across the carport. he was too fast to get a good pic.

OK.....Believe it or not...I've mellowed considerably over the years....but I just came EXTREMELY close to serving a real "Richard Pate" head a knuckle sandwich.....

There was a display with an "Austin City Limits " electric guitar on top of a stack of beer...these are cheap arse guitars and I had never seen one manufactured by or even heard of....this company....so...out of curiosity I picked it up and started tuning it.....this prick comes up and says: "Excuse me sir....I can't have you touching the display". I said: "Really? ...well you have a nice day...."....but I was right on the edge of just punching him in the face or saying: "Yeah....well WTF do you think you can do about it?"

And now this bothers me even more....to the point I plan on going back and grabbing that dadgum thing and causing a real commotion and confrontation....I'm gonna carry that sucker to a register for a price check!!!!

I can touch ANYTHING I want in that store that doesn't have a "Do not touch" sign on it......SCREW HIM....

What a day.....

At work, the primary weldor quit the Fri. Before last. The new guy that was on tryout through a temp service managed to get himself fired today for welding on a couple of Ni-Al bronze propellers using 308 stainless steel filler rod. Needless to say, those three are now scrap. And since I made a point of pulling all the stainless out of that booth (and told my boss that I had), he had to get it from the rod locker in central store's.

Just to prevent such an occurrence, I hadn't told him where we stored it, just told him to come get me if it came up. The guy who showed him where to get it is in the hot seat.

And I'm stuck as lead weldor (in addition to the rest of my job) until the company can hire someone else....:censored: :censored:

In the shipping department, we have another saga running....

Last Wednesday, we took delivery of a brand new Toyota forklift. Last Friday afternoon, after 1st shift went home, a driver for the freight division of a major shipping company (think brown uniforms) decided that he didn't want to wait a couple of minutes for one of the guy's on second to load him, and took it upon himself to load his own truck...... Let's just say that it didn't go very well...

The guy on second who was planning on loading him, came around the corner to find that the guy had somehow gotten stuck, and was proceeding to inflict major damage on the forklift, the dock plate, as well as his trailer trying to get unstuck. He pulled out his phone and started taking video.

When the local Toyota dealer got in to look at the damage, they red flagged the unit and pulled the key's. Needless to say, the front office is ready to chew nail's over this one..... If I have a chance I'll get a couple of photos tomorrow, as I didn't get to that end of the building today.....

do you happen to know why you guys are using Ni-Ai Bronze, instead of silicon bronze?.. Just curious they are both used in boats, just wonder why one over another.
