ok so if you want some advice on welding ive got alot of experience and by what i can see you got alot of skill between the begining of your kart and now.. i presume that you weld with rod enrobed but what kind ? if i remember the last time i weld with this proceed ive used 7018.. you need to find the reason of why you have to grind your weld after. the first thing i learn in my welding school is "dont grind your weld !" so if you have sparckle (dont know the name in english) you need to check :

a: did you make good prep to the steel ?
b: did you have the right polarity ? (AC welding is for garbage only !)
c: did you have the right angle ?
d: did you have enought heat or to much ?
e: what is the rod you used maybe its the problem ?

i can tell you that your weld will be strong enought now but why not continu to upgrade your skill ?

The reason i grind is because of the splatered dots i dont really grind my welds anymore but i think it is because of the fluxcore welder its always messy as much as i prep my steel i dont weld with rods thank you for the help its much appreciated

Because i wanted to allow for more spacers on the inside but it turns out it was a dumb idea.. i have a thread tap for this bolt so i might cut them back or just leave them not sure yet but honestly not too concerned about it.

What is your bolt pattern

It might be time to do it properly
Get some proper axles and hubs from a quad or trailer

A grade 8 bolt is more likely to snap rather than the lower grades that have some flex

The heavy duty spindles have grade 8 bolts and are guaranteed to last just that its $100 dollars so i rather just rebuild mine

Whats the track and wheelbase on that thing? Have you gotten any air yet? I'm wondering how the suspension will take it.

You've done well, you should be proud

The thing I like most about this build is that every time you hit a hurdle, you ploughed on & figured out a way to get over it. IMO, that's the mark of a good craftman; discovering a problem, examining it, then figuring out the most efficient way to overcome it.

You have the skill, the knowledge & the common sense to create great things
