little update. as i am waiting for my sproket and hub to come in i decided to clean out the shed. As im cleaning i stumble across the old shocks from the rear end when i first started the buggy and i notice they were bigger than my current shocks on the front so i decided to throw them on! Hope you like the more ground clearance. (i forgot tho measure the shocks)

Okay i need a little help from you guys well opinion but you catch my drift. I need new front rims because both of these are bent and i dont want to spend alot of money what do you guys think about this set up?

http://www.bmikarts.com/item/16x8-7-Front-Tire--Rim-260041-6616

i like this because i wont need a new hub and tires are fairly cheep for a 7" rim. Do you think it will make the buggy look goofy up front going from a 10 to a 7?

I appreciate the help! -Nick

Umm, no coz you already have 8s on the back; it looks goofy now :roflol:

Here's what you should be worrying about: What size are the tyres on it now? What size are the new ones? Will you lose that extra ground clearance you just gained?

Can you not get the rims fixed. Some tyre shops can do it if they are not too bad. If you have tubeless tyres and the rims are causing them not to stay inflated, they get tubes. These options might be cheaper than getting new stuff

Fixed my neutral thank god it was just my adjustments on the shift cables now it shifts perfectly! Also put my new sprocket on and took it for the first drive i did not hammer it or anything as i was looking for rideability. Let go of the wheel and it drove straight as an arrow, turned wheel and it slowly started coming back into the straight position. Thats what i wanted!!! Also for my wheels i found some 8" tires they are beat up but no cracks just warn down so i will order up some hubs and rims. Now of course everything cant be perfect.. The problem i had today was no brakes.. i pump them filled cup up but it just wont get rid of the big air gap it has :( need help

The first problem I see is your master is laying on it's side, it's not gonna be easy to bleed in that position because the fluid entry point is level with the exit; once the system is pressurised it may be ok but take it off to bleed it.

Next question: Is the caliper higher than the master?

Remove the hose from the caliper & hang it so the end is above the level of the fluid reservoir. Open the bleed nipple on the caliper & slowly fill the caliper through the hole where the hose bolts on. When it's full, close the bleed nipple.

Next, elevate & fill the reservoir; keep it elevated but below the end of the hose. Slowly pump the brake, keep checking & filling the reservoir, until fluid comes out of the hose.

Once you reattach the hose to the caliper, you should be able to bleed normally. The most important part of the whole exercise is keep checking the fluid level! The second most important thing is keep the fluid away from anything that isn't inside the brake system. Brake fluid is very corrosive. It won't just eat your paint, it will seep into the metal so you can't repaint it

Hey just remember close the bleed screw when you let off the pump it will just suck more air in if you don't. What i do when i bleed the brakes on my bike is:
-Open the reservoir and add fluid
-put a small amount of pressure on the brake lever or pedal.
-open the bleed screw
-push the lever or pedal through its stroke
-hold it firmly until you can close the bleed screw again.
-slowly let off the pedal or lever
-check fluid levels and add fluid if needed

I repeat don't allow the pump to suck more air in you would be wasting your time

Set up my brake system to try and make it easy to bleed off the bug.. It worked great off the buggy but when i put it on it just wont squeeze the caliper i dont know what to do

The only reason I can think of is because the master is laying on it's side on the buggy. Try an easy mod so it's laying with the filler on the top, see if it makes a difference

Tried bleeding the brakes again new set up.. Now the sort of work they slow me down but still dont squeeze the disk the way i want and its really turning into a pain in the a$$!

Also went for a little ride and made a video after i made the little video i went for one last lap around the block and decided to break the rear end loose in some sand well that all worked out great till my tire caught the pavement and i had my first roll over!! Im so surprised in my cage because it held up 10x better than i expected and left me harmless and let me tell you it was a pretty hard hit! Checked the frame no cracks no bends!! Now time for some seat belts!
Sorry for the crappy iphone vid

turn your phone sideways BEFORE you start recording and it'll make a nice widescreen video. this narrow up and down video is hard to watch (hence the eyes on our head on the left and right sides. lol). :)

looking good though. good work! hydraulic brakes can be a bit of a pain to dial in. gotta get ALL the air out of the lines, and when you mount them on the kart you gotta have just the right leverage. mine are a little soft, but work decent.

Cool vid (apart from the sideways iphone thing), what sort of speed do you think you got?

Could there be a problem with the brakes? Maybe the caliper is jamming or the master may be leaking. If you hold your foot firm on the brake pedal does it hold or slowly drop? Have you actually seen the caliper pistons move?

pedal stays steady and pistons both move so there must still be air in it ill figure it out eventually
