ya , I cant eather. I was hopeing to get this done before today (sat.) because it was my little girls birthday. We had like 15 kids here. They all played on the trampoline and I gave them all a ride on the manco. If I would have had them done then some of the parents could have driven something. It would have been like a birthday party at a theam park.

bighead: I checked the funds yesterday and I cant get the wheel. as it is I need a clutch , jackshaft, and tierod ends for the trike and the funds have run dry.[/QUOTE]

T-Man. Send me your address and I will donate the wheel and shaft to you. If your using on the trike that is. I would love to see an ody wheel on your trike. It will make it one size fits all. I will also toss in the Ody throttle and brake cable that match the wheel. The cables are old and sticky and will need cleaned. But still are good cables. Very long cables as well. The brake cable os oversized on the ODy. They are nice heavy cables.

This would save you lots of money and you will be able to finish your build faster. Also has kill and light switches built in. Throttle adjuster/stop. Built in brake and iddle adjustments screws as well.

Talk about killing 15 birds with one stone?

PM me your address again and I will send you another mistery box. If you lucky I can fit another pair of shocks that you might be able to use on the front of the trike. I will go post a pic of them now. Let me know if you can use them.

Here are the shocks I have. The larger black pair and probably from a italian scooter. I just rebuilt a moped and they look the same. But not really sure what they came off of. They look okay but not a well made heavy duty shock. The other set I have is off and Odyssey fl250. Well made shock that can take pretty much anything. Little travel though. I do have the pair of those but just one in the pics.

The longer pair are 12" center hole to center hole. The shorter Ody set is 10" center hole to center hole.

Let me know. I can ship them Monday. I do not think the ody shocks will work though. What do you think?

hey that would be cool. I'll PM ya.
The shocks , I dont know. I know I could use the black 12" I-2-I ( eye to eye ) for the next build for Cody. Not sure about the Ody shocks, you might want to hang on to those since you have a strang way of finding those things. But I dont think I'll give the trike any front suspention, Its more of a yard kart/gravil road thing. at first I was thinking of something like the manco for front susp. not sure yet.

A viberating bed???? :wai: You were not BS"ing. The 4x4 coil springs you sent me from your bed works great. :wai:

The nylon like washers are that PC board stuff. I use them for spacers like on spindles. No binding if done right.

The thin metal shims things I get from my work. Just stamped scrape but I use them for all kinds of things.

The handle bar risers are from an old Yamaha GT80 I think. You can make your own bars with those.

That ody wheel will clean up nice if you polish it. I did mine in about a hour and it looks chrome. Can you just cut those cable down? Did you notice how thick the ody brake cable is? Also the brake lever and throttle lever are on splines. You can rotate them for big or small hand grip. Or even use it as a throttle stop. That thick ody cable would be nice for you would get no stretch. Try to fix the plastic if you can for now. Next month I will be buying some new ones I think. I can send you one that is in fair condition later.

The ody shaft I sent you has the plastic bushings in each end. Don't miss those. Look the parts over good. Most that stuff was bent but with easy fix.

The fl250 is about 480lbs dry. So those ody shocks are rated for that. Or to give you an idea. Should be ideal to use for something. The new shocks are from a Italy moped repop I think. You are on your own with that those. They look nice though.

That hub I sent you. It looked like it almost fit. Do the bolt holes line up? Can you mod it for use? It looked like if the bore was a little bigger it would drop on. I was hoping it would fit. That is the hub I could not find the last box I sent you.

Okay back to your trike. I was thinking about what you said about legs being to short and adding an extension. I would not add an extension from the front part of the frame. It would look to bulky. I would build a floor board style foot rest coming off the side frame. Or even better a mini nerf bar slash foot rest. If you come off the front of the frame with an extension. I think it would look to bulky up front. You could make the mini nerf bar look cool as heck as well. Or if you wanted to go the floor board style perhaps you could find some running boards off a touring motercycle. Or even the big old foot gas pedals things welded to the frame rail.

I have another thing I want you to think about. Riding this trike will be a lot like riding a bar stool racer as far as leaning into and out of turns. The problem your going to have is there is nothing for your kness to grab to. On a quad, three wheeler, motorcycle your kness have the gas tank to grab onto for balance. The BSR I built and I am thinking your trike in tight turn it can just fling you off. I am thinking even more so on your trike for the possition you will be sitting. ALSO YOU WILL BE TURNING A WHEEL AND NOT HANDLE BARS. So figure that in as well. After crashing and a few face plants and some road rash riding my BSR I got some tips for you.

Make a nerf bar out from the frame. This will let the rider be able to drop his feet from the front cruzing pegs to a high speed corner stance on the trike. (would you want to do cookies with your feet way out front) Much more stable riding.

Also on the nerf bar make a something, or anything to be able to hook your foot under. Remember your kness have nothing to latch onto. So you can slide get tossed or face planted off the trike pretty easy. This is what I do to fix the problem. Just make your foot peg so you can put your foot on top or under it. This way when you go into a turn your hook your foot under the peg. This gives your body balance for the turn. With nothing for your foot or knee to hold onto you cannot turn as well and will have go slow in turns. Or the other way I was thinking was using one of those old teen speeds foot stirups. You know when we were kids the old touring and racing ten speeds hade those thingy's you stick your toe into? Fab one of those into your nerf bar.

The only other fix I could think of would be a seat with a side bolster. Or maybe a road racing shift kart style seat.

Sorry for blasting out my ideas. I love thinking up stuff like this. Also wanted to tell you about the balance and turning stuff.

PS. I think a china mini quad nerf bar would look sick on your trike. Here is two links for cheap ones. They are small and would look slick. These are for mini quads so not much bigger than a big foot. But would look clean. You could always make them as well. Simple box nerf bar would also look good as well on your trike.

Also posted some pics of my BSR. Notice the front mini bike pegs. Then notice the wing lip on the end of the nerf bar. When I went into a hard turn. I would drop my foot down from the peg and plant it right on that wing tip. This would give me good balance but not enough to keep me from flying off in hard turns. If I had anything to hook my foot onto. I would be able to corner much better.

Some links for ideas but not really the prices.

I thought you would think that was funny. I did clean up the throtle and brake on the wheel they work great now. I dont have anything to cut the cables I have tried grinding a cable but the thing I would like to get would be the little led/aluminum weights that are put on the ends that work so good on the cradels of the controls. I probably could take them down to that shop and have them do it.

I was looking at a nerf bar idea in the begining But decided not to, I should have. I think I'll go with a single bar on each side. That 10 speed foot strap is a good idea.

I will be making the seat. I have noticed that there are no videos on youtube that show that type of thing, it will be a simple idea that I'm sure people could use.

Those Ebay links gave me some good ideas.

From what little I could see, this looks like a neat project. But right now my internet connection is not at all video-friendly, so I haven't seen much. Have you got a photo album somewhere you could link me to so I can see more?

Its not the playback (per se). It's the play for 1/2 second, then 30 seconds of buffering, then play for 2 seconds, then 40 seconds of buffering.... Infuriating really.

Out in the boonies where I am, there's no cable internet available. The phone lines are too outdated for high-speed. I'm using an RF wireless, and it's bloody painful right now.

toystory, no I havent been taking pictures. I know what your talking about the [ play then stop and start again] it seems to be happening to ALOT of people .... it happens to me at certian times of the day. There are alot of problems with YT lately ... you will see the annotations that I put up some times that link the the viewers to other things. AND those things have been working off and on.

I like the top design tman. Now that I see hat it ill look like I think the ody wheel wheel is perfect. Your going to have to ge a steap slant though to make it look good. I am thinking your going to have to lay it right across the top of the engine. I think the ody wheel will look dumb if it is sticking to high in the air. Also if it is to high or low your wrist and hands will not fit the wheel right. So think about that when you set it up. Motorcross bars would look good but you would have a huge turning points. Long reach if you will. If you think you will be riding this like a quad then maybe bars would be better. If you sit back and ride then the ody wheel will work good. Amagine trying to ride a quad with an ody wheel?

Looks great. I like your legs and kness will have something to grab to. Like a little mini quad you have.

It would look slick with a full front body and open wheel fenders up front.

Heck you could mod that upper cage bar to fit another seat in front of the engine. Like a little kids seat for your kids. Call it a front rumble seat. Your steering would need some a few knuckles though. Okay I will stop. LOL. I love thinking of ideas.
