why dont u build a steering wheel for this trike and put the real one on codys karts

i reckon cody would get alot more enjoyment out of the jet fighter controls than u

anyany staying in the mini quad /trike style in would be better with dirt bike handle bars
it would make for better control and a better look

:iagree: After seing the style I think some bars would look sick. And Cody really like the wheel. Also he will not have to wory about pedals. And you wont have to tear your steering apart to put the ody wheel on. You just have to find a twist throttle. Or a thumb throttle would be best. Safer for kids and you do not have to twist while in full turn. Same reason ATV use thumb throttles.

I can dig one up I am sure I have one. Just have not seen it in a few years.

I think a full sized street bike gas tank would look slick sitting on top of the engine infront of the seat. Like a Ninja or the like. Also put the matching tanks seat on the back of your frame along with the matching rear fender. Dont forget to add the matching side plastics as well. Then make cr250 like air/radiator scoop like front end out of metal or tented see thru plastic. After all that ake the matching bikes front fenders. Cut them in half and use the two cut fenders for your front fenders.

Okay Okay. I will go to bed now....

Cool just make sure you get a nice slant on it. Not sticking up in the air.

Also look at this wheel. The cover was cracked like yours. We just cut out some tin to fit the shape. Then used opoxy to glue the tin part down. Then re drilled the whole to fit the switches. Not sure what your going to do with the other break. Perhaps just black tape it for now. I have a okay one I can send you later.

oh ya, thats what I'll be doing with the Ody wheel. this one that is in the video is at a high angle just because any lower and the bike handle bars would collide with someones knees when turning. you'll see.

The steering shaft is sticking up to far. Change the angle lower. Or shorten it.

With the bars on it is going to be even taller. It's going to be like a harley with ape hangers.

With being so tall your turning reach will be long. It will be hard to twist the throttle as well. That thumb throttle is perfect for turning.

It looks okay but I just think it is to tall. Perhaps you flip the bars over to drop it down some. I would run it a little over the top rail a few inches only.

T-man. I watched your vid 16 already. This is what I think you should do.

Leave the blue tank on the motor. Then make a fake tank above the motor built into your upper frame rails. Then make your side panels work into the tank. This way you have the original tank on the motor. And a cool fake tank above. You panels are going to hide the motor anyway right? The engine is fan cool it should be okay if you have air comming in. On your side panels make a snorkel scoop on each side with a solid nose cone.

Also the open space in front of the motor? You could make a front wing to fill that up if the panels do not.

So you have a fake tank with side panels with scoops on each side along with a nose cone. Then a cool looking wing out the wide front.

On my BSR racer I went down to the exhuast shop and bought a peace of 5 or 6 inch exhuast pipe. I cut 2 or 3 inches out of the middle of the pipe on each side. I then welded the two parts back to make a wing. The smaller section I cut out I used for the smaller front wing.

It would look sick.

My DIY wing

Ps, Then the gas cap on the fake tanks has a hose that feeds the blue tank under it. Like a funnel if you will.

Okay bigheads tips page two. LOL I love thinking of designs.

When you make the side panels I think I side scoop on each side would be cool. Maybe like a mini moper hood scoop. (see pics)

Also and or. When you make the side panels you can add a look to them. Perhaps you can go the the wrecking yard and find some cool looking auto grills or parts and peaces to some grills to cut and lay into the side panels. Some older cars have nice side trim/molding you may be able to just screw to the sides the look cool as well. Also consider the rocker panel trim. Also I would look hard at the air dam guards under the bumper. Some of that into your side panels would look mean. Then if you want massive attension you can paint the shark face on the side panels.

Some ideas is all.

Some random pics to pick your mind.

I see what your talking about. but the whole engine wont be incased I only want to build the paneling for the rear and a little of the top. Remember, adding to much will be a deturant for kids to make this. at this point kids would be getting sick of working on it. so everything after this point, I should try to make easy and fast.
But for the side vents I was thinking of something like these ... going at an angle or vertical.

You could always make a few advanced "optional" videos for people who want to do more than just the basics. I'm sure theres quite a few kids out there that'd love to learn how to do sheet metal work.

I think adding a 7 barrel mini-gun to the front would really make it look sweet. My 2¢.

Functional mini-gun to defend kart from thieves > air scoops for looks IMO. Now, where to get a mini-gun...
